* Shows initially got some interested locals but never captured the tourist market (business partner was expected to do deals so tourist buses would stop off at shows as part of sightseeing itinerary)

* At one point they're doing 3 shows a night (not due to popularity, just trying to wring money out of the situation)

* After about 4 weeks with no tourists there's a meeting with possibly mafia connected business partner. Wrestler insults business partner. Wrestlers are encouraged to get out of Pattaya for their own saftey. Conway stays but lays low (he was living there and running a resteraunt)

* End of TWF

Thanks for the info, I managed to get in touch with Phil Lea as well who I knew from Bournemouth shows back when he was a chubby 14 year old. He's long left the wrestling business and is a chiseled god now by the looks of things. 

If Jonny's reading I do plan on grabbing a copy when I'm next in the UK as it isn't in E book format. 

For anyone interested Thailand has had a couple of attempts at wrestling over the years with one being another Thai Wrestling Federation in 2013 involving Australian wrestler TNT.  Gatoh Move (now Choco Pro) was started there and one half of the organization Pumy has gone on to run SETUP Thailand/ IWA Thailand (an offshoot of infamous IWA Japan). They run regular shows in Bangkok with their own local roster, Southeast Asian wrestler imports and then often 1 or 2 names from Japan. They started the year with Marafuji and have also featured Chris Brookes and Zack Sabre Jr this year. There's also a chap who wrestles under the name Sunny Z who runs in Pattaya. His shows mostly come out of his training school but he did partner with a bar for 4 months of daily shows which often got good crowds of drunk tourists right above the infamous bits of the city. His promotion is expanding into Cambodia and also has a deal with someone in China to run closed door livestream shows that look like a Chinese wrestling Fightclub.

Kind of a tenuous question. But I was thinking about 80's wrestlers who had normal physiques and already had their biggest achievements. Then went on the juice. Two I could think of were:

 Don Muraco. Intercontinental Champion in the early 80s. Then towards the end of his WWF run he got massive, built like the proverbial shithouse and got the wriggly worm veins.

Also Rick Martel, AWA World Champion. Decent sized guy, nothing outstanding. Then when he started his singles run as The Model. Little way into it after dropping Slick as his manager, he got huge and ripped for a 6 month period. Then he went back to his normal size.

They're probably the only two from that period who are still alive as well

Not to the same degree but I always thought Roddy Piper's physique peaked in 1992, right as his (pre-WCW) career was nearing its end. Though I dunno if that was roids or just a better tan/diet, as he wasn't ridiculously big.

Piper definitely looked in the best shape of his career to me in 1992.

While we’re on 92, there was a spell during the Dangerous Alliance days when Bobby Eaton actually looked in really good nick.

Was never gonna be a Greek god but I don’t think he ever looked better than that in his career before or since. This only lasted probably a few months though, by late 92 he was his same old wonderfully flabby self. Not saying he was definitely on the juice but I suspect he probably had a dabble. And obviously this was after the two different versions of the Midnight Express with Condrey and Lane, which was undoubtedly his best run.

Which wrestler(s) had the most flips between WWF & WCW? I've got Sid & Davey Boy, both moving between the two companies 5 times.

Neidhart on 5 as well? Didn't he go to WCW 93ish, back to WWF 96, then back to WCW with Bret and I'm gonna assume he made further WWE appearances at some point.

If you count NWA, Ricky Steamboat is 5 as well.

Jeff Jarrett is at 5 too if you count his most recent WWE run, though it being 20 years after WCW died makes it hard to consider a flip! 

If you're including the NWA then Barry Windham is arguably on 7 thanks to his short 80s WWF runs, which I think would be hard to beat.

Dustin Rhodes?

WCW 1988-89

WWF 1990-91

WCW 1991-95

WWF 1995-99

WCW 1999-01

Returns to WWF in 2002 when his Turner contract was brought out.

He then also left and returned to WWE another 3 times at least between 2003 and 2019.

Speaking of Piper, he was absolutely shredded during the Jerry Lawler feud in 1994, I know he was filming a few films at the time, so he was probably also training for those

I saw a clip from Piper/Lawler recently and was baffled to see Piper in trunks looking in really good shape.  My memory of the match (other than it being terrible) had Piper in jeans, but I've obviously conflated that in my head with Mania 12 over the years.

Agreed, I thought he looked his best there, shame the feud and match wasn't up to much. Did they ever wrestle anywhere else to better results?

What are the odds of the uk/Ireland getting back WWE legacy content back when the peacock deal ends in March next year....can any see YouTube (WWE vault  channel going behind  a pay wall)or Amazon picking up the world wide rights I miss watching WCW,some of the documentaries they had on there to...etc

I have had a scan through the Podcast thread here but I'm sure I read something about him posting or saying some dodgy right wing stuff. He sure does work with some sketchy people like Dutch and Stevie Richards, so maybe I'm mixing there comments with his.
