Better than Bob Holly’s? Pft, doubt it.

Haven’t seen Bob do a dropkick in the past 20 years, so I think my use of “currently” would get me out of that one… unless I’ve misunderstood the question and we’re talking “most recent all-time” and not “most recent best right now”?

Yeah most recent all time. Who is the most recent person to be considered so good at a particular move they do the all-time best one. Some might argue for Okada to have the best dropkick, it is a really good dropkick. Bob Holly did a great one too but my comment about him was taking the mick a bit. Orton used to have a really good one as well.

Could he be considered under rated?

Er, no? I think pretty much everyone knows Lawler was an excellent wrestler.

Ignore the stupid thumbnail/name but Bob Holly also did a similar one.

Something that didn’t click with me until today… Is Trick Williams’ name an intentional reference to actor Treat Williams?

For that matter, is Shawn Michaels having that name any kind of reference to Lorne Michaels?

HBK is just his middle and first names reversed and adapted into a name because he wasn't gonna be getting far with his proper name.

Plus he's “Shawn” within the family, despite it being his middle name.

(Although his mother is supposed to have chastised him with “Michael Shawn Hickenbottom! What are you doing?!” on a visit to the Texas Wrestling Academy when she saw him – during his first retirement – taking a huge backdrop because he was frustrated that the students weren't getting enough height, back injury be damned!)

Just watched this doc on Jushin Liger in the UK during the 80’s by the always excellent kim justice..

It features a uk wrestler called Clive Myers who looks pretty damn good for the time.

It got me thinking , what other UK World of Sport era wrestlers were quite progressive in their ring styles ?

Doc is here and well worth a watch

Mark Rocco, with a bullet. Absolutely incredible to watch, constant movement and great heel heat.
