Paid Members Tommy! Posted October 1, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted October 1, 2021 Isn't this part of the shift away from physical media. Way back when what you commited to cart / tape / disk was it. Games a janky bag of wank then the publisher would have to wait and delay or know they were going to get shafted on sales or reputation. Now it's a janky mess but it doesn't matter, because we can release as planned and spend the time between close and release on extended crunch to build a patch. As long as the patch isn't late, or there's too much to fix, then people just live with it until we get a patch. But a patch will turn up so everythings fine. Unless people don't complain, then they don't have to do anything.

A game’s release date is no longer it’s final, “Everything must be done by this date, otherwise it’s too late”. So now games are released and you’ll have to download a 50 GB patch on the very first day before you can actually start playing it because the developer’s used the time between the cut-off date and the actual consumer release date to fix shit. Moderators Chest Rockwell Posted October 1, 2021 Moderators Share Posted October 1, 2021 (edited) Pathetic. Just don't release a broken fucking game instead of getting paying customers to do your QA. RancidPunx
I had ISS Deluxe on the SNES back in 96 i think it was. I’ve been with the franchise ever since. It pains me to see what is happening .
lanky316
The worst part, after how fucked this launch has been is the line "from next week onward". So in other words, they genuinely thought that was a great and acceptable game to release and seem shocked at how it's been received. No, they know but they can't say "we know it's shit but we wanted to make sure it was booked in this quarters figures and hit the release deadline for the suits" without looking like cunts rather than fools. lanky316
but.... that makes them look like bigger cunts for the above reason...
Paid Members BomberPat Posted October 1, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted October 1, 2021 it's only issues with "movement of players" and "the behaviour of the ball", surely those two components can't get in the way of a football game too much? It's going to be a shame when it's fixed, the videos and screenshots today have been far more entertaining than playing it ever will be. They aren't going to look good either way but "we are listening and working hard to do what you ask" sounds better. At least it's not like that Tony Hawk game where the disc only had the first level on and the rest of the game was part of a patch issued for release day. The truly “worst thing” is that there multiple potential worse things about the game. To be fair , the change to Efootball was called a bad idea the day it was announced. The beta was met with negative feedback also. If all these bugs are completely new or unexpected by the developers then they have an obvious quality/testing issues. The trump card Pro Evo had most years was that it’s actual gameplay was superior to FIFA. They’ve fucked that now it sounds like…
