Paid Members Thunderplex Posted March 25, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted March 25, 2020 (edited) Always hoped id see that he had a new film in production, sad that will never happen now. I remember seeing Reanimator when it first came out via Entertainment in video (They gave us No Retreat, No Surrender too!), And it remains my favourite fun horror of all times. A lesser known one is Dagon that nails the Mythos better then any other film I've seen. RIP you genius. Paid Members Carbomb Posted March 25, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted March 25, 2020 (edited) Robot Jox was a favourite of my teen years. I remember staying up till 3am during the summer holidays watching all sorts of films on The Movie Channel and Sky Movies Plus ("D'you remember when we had only two movie channels on cable, and you'd switch between the two and your brass hand would seize up? Do you remember that, in the Nineteen Ninetiiiiiiiies?!"), and Robot Jox seemed so big-time and epic, I didn't understand why it wasn't a bigger deal. Paid Members gmoney Posted March 25, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted March 25, 2020 Bill Rieflin, fantastic jobbing industrial drummer who played with Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Revolting Cocks, as well as REM and King Crimson, has died of cancer. Incredible drummer.
Paid Members Surf Digby Posted March 25, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted March 25, 2020 I've never seen Robot Jox, but can remember the sleeve right down to the pictures on the back. Having two sisters meant that I usually got outvoted at the video shop.
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted March 26, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted March 26, 2020 Curley from the Harlem Globetrotters has died, aged 71. Loved these guys when I was little. Saw them live in Blackpool around 1981, and they were awesome.
Awards Moderator Onyx2 Posted March 29, 2020 Awards Moderator Share Posted March 29, 2020 (edited) Composer Krzysztof Penderecki at 86. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2020/mar/29/composer-krzysztof-penderecki-dies-aged-86 Was never a huge name but I don't know why - specialising in horror and thriller his scores from the 70s, his works have seen me through a lot of projects. Von Sydow at 90, Penderecki at 86... who will the curse of the Exorcist claim next?!?! Edited March 29, 2020 by Onyx2

SuperBacon
Well that is really shit. An incredibly underrated band (first two albums are wicked), but that's just very sad to read.
Awards Moderator HarmonicGenerator Posted April 2, 2020 Awards Moderator Share Posted April 2, 2020 (edited) Fuck, that’s really sad. Welcome Interstate Managers is a brilliant album. Such a great songwriter. 😔 Edit: Just read the Roling Stone article and I'd forgotten he did the songs for Josie and the Pussycats. Mock me if you want but those are some great songs. RIP. Paid Members Dead Mike Posted April 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted April 2, 2020 This sucks. I was a big FoW fan from when they first came out. Seen them a bunch and just revisited 'Welcome Interstate Managers' a few weeks ago. RIP

Paid Members Thunderplex Posted April 2, 2020 Paid Members Share Posted April 2, 2020 I wanted to be Eddie Large when I was about 6. The act looks tacky as hell now, but they were superstars at the time. Very sad.
