I hate they have called it 'Scream' when it's clearly a continuation of the series. Do I need to have seen the previous six films in the Se7en franchise? Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted October 13, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted October 13, 2021 I'm marathoning all the Halloween films at the weekend in the ultimate exercise of self hatred. I've never seen the Rob Zombie ones, I'm hoping our internet goes down when I get to them.

It's improved hugely since last year and actually has quite a lot of really good films on it, and a few of their originals and exclusives are alright too. Which makes you wonder why The Horror Channel still manages to be so fucking awful after all these years. If you're a fan of the documentary type stuff, get a VPN, set it the US, and access shudder on a FireStick. Far better selection from what I recall. Perry
Just a heads up, Halloween (2018) premieres on Friday 11.25pm on BBC One. It's probably the best one since the original.

I'm a big fan of the House of 1000 Corpses/Devils Rejects movies, but honestly believe those were only good because of the underrated Bill Moseley and Sid Haig. Three from Hell was a win because of Moseley once again, and the awesomeness of Richard Brake. The Halloween remakes would have been fine as standalone horror movies, but as part of the Halloween franchise they blew big-time. Basically, I watch Zombie's movies because I know they'll likely feature actors I like, but it also means I have to put up with his talentless wife being shoehorned into a prominent role as well, which irritates me. Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted October 13, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted October 13, 2021 I watched Censor this morning, and what a great film. Would make a superb companion piece to Berberian Sound Studio, I reckon. Surprised it's had a mixed reception but then horror movies almost always do. Paid Members Tommy! Posted October 13, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted October 13, 2021 No one will top the "I'd love to watch American History X, but I've not seen the first nine" gag. I wish I could remember who made it.

Halloween 5 and Resurrection were absolutely terrible. Halloween 4 is still my favourite sequel.

I'm up to 5 and I really don't want to have to watch it again. The Rob zombie ones annoy me. The first one was almost an OK film but you'd think such a big horror fan would have stayed clear of trying to add a back story to Michael. The whole thing of Michael just being evil and wrong is so much more effective than Zombie finding a reason to pop his wife in the film and giving Myers a troubled homelife.

Paid Members chokeout Posted October 16, 2021 Paid Members Share Posted October 16, 2021 Halloween Kills is so, so disappointing. Its hard to believe it was made by the same people who made the last one and ignores everything that made the Carpenter film great. No fake outs, no jump scares, no playing with expectations, just gore. I have no urge to see the next one which is apparently already filmed.

Genuinely felt like a third installment of the Rob Zombie films at times.
