Because 18 championships across three brands feels like a lot. 6 per show? Unless more have others? And there are two more women's titles coming in? A real pet peeve when people throw NXT belts into this stat. It’s not a brand for any actual WWE fan, it’s a glorified development league that rarely interacts in any sort of quantifiable way with the two main shows. An NXT champion showing up on RAW or SD is given a quick crowd shot. A RAW or SD champion showing up on the opposite brand is part of the show and storyline. Quote
The King of Old School Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Can definitely see Owens/Zayn at Mania, it won't be for the WWE title though. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted December 9, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 9, 2024 "Leave my rental vehicle right now!" Not a vintage Smacksown but still a pretty good one. The opening Cody / Gable promo was good, and then the women's triple threat match wasn't. I have to ask, considering their efforts in the last couple of weeks, how Naomi and Nia Jax had such a great match? Because Naomi, who is normally crap, was AWFUL during this. Fortunately Elektra Lopez looked quite decent and Tiffany Stratton's babyface audition went really well. They have to bin Naomi though ffs. Piper Niven and Bianca Belair had a good one though, even if it went a bit long. Chelsea Green's expression when she got dragged into the ring was wonderful. That second senton Niven hit looked unpleasant. Bianca's ribs are shoot knackered now. Solo and what's left battered Andrade and LA Knight and that was quite funny. Solo is really, really good on the mic now, really didn't think he had it in him. Jacob Fatu isn't trying to make us laugh but he's funny as fuck. The MCMG / DIY match was the shits, wasn't it? In execution and concept, absolutely awful. WWE haven't got much wrong lately but this fucking was. Made MCMG and their ace theme tune look extremely stupid, and they've only just turned up, and now we have to see DIY even more. Johnny Gargano trying to be a heel. Sends shivers down your spine. Michael Cole really did interview Kevin Owens in his car. Owens treading the line between comedy and danger flawlessly. He is right, you know. Rhodes and Gable had a cracking match, too. That one boot jump to the top rope to do that Cody cutter was bloody fantastic. LA Knight can't do it with both boots on. Nobody noticed Owens battering Rhodes with an American Dream t-shirt on? Splendid. Give him the title. Quote

METAL ON METAL Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 I honestly don’t understand what tiresome reach you’re even attempting there. Which of those female wrestlers clearly advertised on the poster have ever appeared on the main roster? This compulsive obsession to try to shit on or try to make any single thing a HHH diss is honestly quite scary and alienating at this point and it also derails many threads that are unrelated to whatever point you think you’re making. I honestly don’t want to put you on ignore as I generally enjoy your posts in off-topic but on-topic is increasingly frustrating. —————— On-topic: Pretty easy watch as usual this week, albeit missing the buzz of Reigns and OG bloodline from previous weeks. Though SNME feels a bit distracting and detrimental to the pacing of storylines other than Cody/Owens for me - not sure how I feel about the SNME after that being the week before the Rumble. Always happy to see Chad Gable get a bit of a showcase and chance at the top. Still a travesty he wasn’t the one to beat Gunther for the IC title… Quote
DavidB6937 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Yeah the Gable stuff is pretty frustrating. It took them so long to get him to a point where he finally caught on and they seemed to have something with him. Does feel like a missed opportunity in hindsight. He's not in any better position now. Quote

Apart from Raw, Smackdown, NXT, Main Event, PLE’s, Takeovers, Heat, Velocity, Superstars, Wrestling Challenge and all the highlight packages on YouTube…obviously all accidentally stumbled upon. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted December 9, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 9, 2024 It’s certainly a bold new booking strategy. Threaten your audience with the worst time imaginable, so when you pivot and provide literally anything else, it’s a huge relief. They did it when they threatened to put Rollins in War Games and they did it here when they threatened to do more Ciampa vs. Gargano matches. Gargano and Ciampa being in CAHOOTS and winning the belts is rubbish, but I’ll take it all day long over them doing any more singles matches against each other. Kevin Owens stole the show once again. The interview in his car was brilliant. He’s right, you know. Bloody hilarious, too. That bit where he asked Michael Cole to come back, just so he could slowly close the window on him was exactly why he’s the best and the WWE Champion Elect. Cole bringing up Sami was absolutely electric. It’s a testament to how amazing both guys are that it never gets old and every time they come back into each other’s orbit it’s always exciting. The antithesis of Randy Orton and Cena. “We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.” He’s going to kill him! Quote
Chili Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn are two who you can just keep interacting forever and it doesn't ever seem to lose it's juice. They can be mates/Tag champs and it's great stuff or one them can be an absolute arsehole and once the other appears back in their orbit, you're happy to see them feud/try and save the other. They have that certain special magic as performers. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted December 13, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 13, 2024 Kevin Owens at tonight’s taping. Quote
Doog Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 That probably kills any chance of an Owens victory tomorrow unfortunately. Not to go all KFogg, and it's good they give the talent time off over christmas, these taped in advance episodes are a proper killer. Quote

But to answer your question, all I was doing was sharing the poster which says WWE deadline and not NXT Deadline. Which was the first time I’d certainly seen an NXT PLE not advertised as such. That was it. Nothing more, I just thought it was odd they did it and maybe it was trying to blend the brands together more? Quote

I'm not a Nazi that resents them having breaks but the crazy number of double tapings recently have killed the build for survivor series and became detrimental it does feel like a stretch for them to have Kevin win and spoil it by having him come out with the belt before it's happened. Who knows though Quote
