Jey was pretty naff in this with weak selling and comeback but luckily Fatu controlled most of it. Absolutely did the job. It did have a weird "This is awesome" chant. Sometimes I think modern fans just don't quite know how to react to things. Jay is ALWAYS pretty naff. I’m not taking away his popularity and the way he’s managed to get over by saying Yeet. But the Uso’s are completely bland in the ring, especially when they are singles wrestlers. Nothing unique to them at all imo. Quote
TheScarlettChad Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Jeff Hardy wasn't anything special either. He was still the most over guy in the company at one point. Wrestling skill isn't the only thing you need to be a great. Jey's perfectly fine. Quote

But forgetting that, Jeff Hardy? The bad boy with the tatts and cool hair who did the cool stunts? He’s also a better wrestler than Jay Uso, that’s a terrible comparison. Quote
Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted December 1, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 1, 2024 Smacksown! Yeah, the opening segment was brutal. I thought they'd put these promo segments where people talk in order for ages behind them. What made it dafter is that the two best talkers out there, Bayley and Tiffany Stratton, didn't say a sodding word. I've no idea what Nia Jax was going for, especially. Rhea's theme music is fucking shit as well and it needs to go, I don't care if the band are her mates. Somebody found Andrade! To job out to Nakamura! Better start punching someone, mate - might work this time! Match was ok, by Nakamura's low standards, but the best thing about it was LA Knight looking a total berk after the match and the production truck deciding to air a slow-mo of the misting, showing it going absolutely nowhere near Knight's eyes. Show us another angle! Johnny Gargano then stroked his beard 309 times during Ciampa ranting at him. What did anyone ever see in Gargano? You've all got blood on your hands. Kevin IS right. Great backstory and then Cody Rhodes and Carmelo Hayes had a pretty good match. Hayes hasn't quite got in the ring what he has in his personality and promos but there's something there. The Punk / Reigns summit wasn't bad but it's obviously a huge letdown and missed opportunity compared to what it could have been. It's CM Punk and Roman Reigns for fuck's sake. Why wouldn't you give them a good chunk of time and a live audience? Ridiculous. That said I quite enjoyed it and they found another subplot to The Bloodline story. This chapter is called The Favour. This is the actual Neverending Story. Get Limahl to sing Roman out at Wrestlemania. What the fuck is Meta Four? And why would you call it that? Half-decent triple-threat though. Lash Legend looks really good. Piper Niven is not. Michin can't decide if she's a brawler or a high flyer but I quite like her. Shame about the ending but it was alright. So I think what happened in the main event is a few weeks ago, when people lost their shit when Jacob Fatu and Bron Breakker glared at each other on Raw, WWE saw millions of dollars and sorry Jey! You're yeeted! Probably his best singles match although mostly to do with Jacob. Not a great Smacksown but passable enough. Quote

That's the name of the stable she is with in NXT consisting of herself, Noam Dar, Oro Mensah and Jakara Jackson Noam Dar has been out injured since around June though so the group hasn't been around together recently just Legend and Jackson as a team From memory (and you not having heard of them before backs it up) this is the first time during the main roster matches Legend has had either as singles or in tags with Jackson where she/they have actually been referenced as being part of Meta Four by the announcers though so maybe an indication Dar will be back soon and they'll be called up to the main roster all together Quote
The King of Old School Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 Noam Dar fucking hell. Is he still about? Only memorable for the way he used to say Alicia Fox. Quote

He’s surely the longest serving current WWE wrestler not to have had a stint on the main roster? Edited December 2, 2024 by RedTwoster Quote
Paid Members Statto Posted December 2, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 2, 2024 Depends how you classify main roster, but he was a (reasonably well featured) member of the Cruiserweight division when it was part of Raw. Made it onto a couple of main roster PPVs too. Quote
The Dart Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 As far as contracts went, 205 Live was considered "main roster". I think you could use enough logic/sense to consider it developmental though, despite the Raw and PPV appearances in the early days of the show. Quote

My memory is clearly not what it used to be - I was certain the cruiserweight title was part of the NXT brand from day one, I’d totally forgotten about the Raw era. I had to google to find out who the first champion was and I have no memory at all of TJP in WWE. EDIT: Or at all, to be fair. Speaks to the success of the division, I guess. Or the success of my memory. Edited December 2, 2024 by RedTwoster Quote
Paid Members RedTwoster Posted December 7, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 7, 2024 A trade window? I’m pretty sure the idea for that was suggested on this very forum after the last underwhelming draft. Are you reading this, Triple H?! With that in mind, I wonder if Cody and Reigns actually will end up on Raw as has been touted? I can’t see how on earth that could be justified by Aldis, as there really isn’t an equivalent on the other side. You could get away with losing one of them, perhaps, but not both. Cody losing the belt to Owens, then moving to Raw to kill his opportunity at a rematch sounds very possible. Reigns to Raw, to set up the Punk match also sounds possible; but we’ll see what they do here. Quote

Another solid episode of Smackers based on the clips I've seen. Looking forward to watching the full show Quote
Paid Members Hannibal Scorch Posted December 7, 2024 Paid Members Posted December 7, 2024 Can someone explain to me why Tiffany Stratton, the owner of the MitB briefcase, not only entered a tournament for a women’s title but subsequently won her match to move into the next stage? Quote
DavidB6937 Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Solid enough. Enjoyed the KO stuff, and I love Chad Gable so always enjoy seeing him get opportunities. Gutted we're not getting a solo heel Ciampa run but instead I'm now stuck with a heel Gargano? Fucks sake. Bianca and Piper always work well together. Tiffy time is always good for me. Bloodline stuff was funny just because it made LA Knight look stupid. Guess we will be getting Roman/Solo for the head of the table stuff when he can be bothered to turn up. More in car interviews please. Quote
