I used to serve a Cockburn or too, mind you I also used to serve a little old lady called Ethel Cockshott. I struggled to keep a straight face without fail.

I knew I'd seen that before so decided to have a flick back through the thread. It's been posted at least three times before, once by you!

Anyway. Was a worthwhile endeavor as I found myself creaking with laughter going back through the thread.

my brother is working at Jersey Archives today, and discovered someone listed on an 1800s census as "Phil Le Bastard".

I had to look that name up, well I found this and couldn't believe that it was not as uncommon as you'd think. Sadly none of Phil's le bastard sons were called Alan
