Bit of a weird one this, and I don't know where else to put it really.

Been listening to The Smashing Pumpkins tonight (tonight), which I don't often do because though I like them, they remind me of a guy in my friends group when I was a teenager who was a massive twat, and a big fan of TSP. He was very manipulative, untrustworthy and not half as clever as he thought he was. A bit like Billy Corgan, I suppose, perhaps that's why he idolised him. He ended up being ostracised from our group because he was in a relationship with another friend and threatened to kill himself if she broke up with him. I probably saw him last when I was 20 maybe, but as I say, I think of him whenever I hear the Pumpkins.

I googled him tonight, curious to see what he was up to. I found a news article from a video games industry website. It turns out he was part of some gaming streaming collective, had 100,000 Youtube subscribers, and in 2019 he was kicked out because the creepy cunt had been abusing his position to assault women in the scene, I'm not going to link to articles, because he's not a celebrity.  I'm not even sure why I'm posting this at all, other than I feel a bit sick and needed to get this off my chest.

The state of the reporting though. Heinous act aside, what the fuck does this add to the story?

Is anyone reading this saying "Jean who? Oh Street Fighter, you should've said sooner."

A few months back a random video showed up on my social feed of a guy saying he’d been groomed and sexually abused by a famous person in the UK. The video went semi-viral and he started giving regular updates and asking for other potential victims to come forward.

He said that he’d taken lots of evidence to the police and wasn’t getting any help in pursuing the complaint, and for legal reasons, we couldn’t name the celebrity.

He also said how he suspected the character Darrien in Baby Reindeer was based on this person.

Yesterday, he revealed the person to be Matt Lucas and showed a video and a voice mail from him (neither of which were incriminating) but said as he’s gotten nowhere with the police, he felt like this was his only next move.

The video’s got quite a lot of interaction but nothing appears to have hit the mainstream media.

The video is on TikTok and I don’t know how to share it, or even if that’s allowed here.
