Yeah genuinely surprised by that, given the season he's had but then again they have an abundance of attacking talent. Thought they'd drop Rudy or that lump Mario Gomez instead, or even one of their 50 CBs. Still at least we finally get to see Reus on the big stage, was gutted when he missed the last two major tournaments through injury.

I still can't get over the fact that Bobby M dropped Nainggolan. The silly prick.

Valverde missing out on the Uruguay squad is a shame, thought we'd see quite a bit of him.

Lichtsteiner, Sokratis, Fellaini...ok it's not screaming 'dynamic' but they could be very useful squad members and in the case of Sokratis that defensive rock we've been screaming for. All of those three for £16m. Add a keeper into the mix (Leno please), a midfielder (Seri please) and perhaps another forward or some sort- then let's see what Emery can do with them.

Also that other young french player who everyone is raving about that looks like Rabiot on a free who Emery gave a debut too at 17 at PSG.

It's great to see that even though Wenger's gone, Arsenal can't quite shake off the 'MUST HAVE THAT FRENCH U20 KID!' habit.

Apparently, according to Sky Italia anyway, Wolves are close to signing Joao Cancelo from Valencia for 40m Euros. Not too familiar with the player but he was on loan at Inter this past season and had been linked with going to City. Anything been said about it up your way @Teedy Kay

Yeah, 40 mil Euros has been bid by all accounts.

With regards to Andre Silva, I think Wolves cooled their interest as he's looking likely to go to Monaco, and it appears we've trying to get Patricio and now Cancelo sorted before him.

As far as Cancelo is concerned he looks to suit our system very well and is a positive upgrade and/or the challenge Doc needs to take the next step.

Fred has officially signed for United, for what is believed to be £52m (that's £2m more than our budget! 😩)

Saw this about him from a report in February:

Quote
In the Champions League so far, he’s averaged a passing accuracy of 84%, 64.2% of those being forward passes out of 327 he’s attempted.

Bet Jose can't wait to drill Fred into moving the direction of those 64.2% passes sideways rather than forwards.

Yeah. Fred is a cracking player, like, but Jose will have him man marking the likes of Pascal Gross, and barking at him should he dare try something as infuriating as a forward pass.

It's genuinely impossible not to feel Jose is dragging most new signings down a level.

Honestly can't get excited about the Fred signing because we all know how this is going to go and United's appalling history with central playmakers to boot.
