It's today then ... (Trump thread)

That's pessimistic. There's an unusual level of absentee ballots and post-in votes, and we don't know what that means.

Remember how everyone was talking about 'Trump will try to declare victory when he's marginally ahead'? This is that time. And it relies on the way these things go - it takes time to find out. This isn't at miracle level. It's not looking good, but it's not doom and gloom either.

It reminds me of the EU referendum, although I might be misremembering. It started off so well and gradually for everyone that wanted to stay there were 2 more wanting to leave. This seems similar, great start but the horror seems inevitable.

It's not really comparable. Anyway, the Brexit referendum started off horribly ominously for the Remain campaign when the Yes votes declared by region weren't nearly as emphatic as people were hoping.

Because of the postal vote issues (in some places, they won't count these until after in person votes are sorted & most of them are thought to be dems), nobody knows exactly how the vote tally really looks, but of the states not already declared these are the key ones up for grabs

North Carolina    15 votes
Arizona    11 votes
Pennsylvania    20 votes
Nevada    6 votes
Michigan    16 votes
Wisconsin    10 votes

Everyone knew he was going to do this. It's hardly news. Unless he won easily, he was always going to throw a grenade.

He's not rambling. Myths like that are why we keep being surprised that the guys we don't like are winning. He's calculated.

Results like the one in Florida show he speaks to lots of people.

I've still no idea where this is going. Crucially, the bookies are going big on Trump.

Oh of course we knew he was going to, it’s just the fact that he can stand there bold as brass and accuse his opponent of being corrupt and saying they’ll do exactly what he’s doing and expects no-one to at an eyelid.

The fact that it’s even a close contest shows how fucked the human race is. Everything that’s happed since 2016 “Yeah! 4 more years of that please!”
