The Maestro
I'm gutted to hear about John Dunsworth passing away. Easily my favourite "drunk" actor and Lahey is the best thing about Trailer Park Boys. Rest in Peace bud.

What a shame. He also appeared in Coronation Street in 1997 as a romantic interest of Eileen GGrimshaw which I have no recollection of. Â 2007 He was in it for a couple of weeks, think it turned out he was two timing her.
NoUseforaUsername
Anyone read Michael Hann's article about Sean Hughes on the Guardian?
Paid Members SpursRiot2012 Posted October 21, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted October 21, 2017 Yeah, I read it. People are never as one sided or simple as they're often described once they die. It was interesting to read an honest opinion of him.
Merzbow
Martin Ain from Hellhammer and Celtic Frost has passed away from a heart attack at 50. Both bands have been super influential in the extreme metal scene, Tom G Warrior is the known face of the groups but Martin played a huge part in them too. Yeah, just wrote that in the metal thread too, gutted, I fucking love Celtic Frost.
Merzbow
I've always been more of a Hellhammer fan, it's a dirty and technically inferior band but that DIY sounding proto-black metal just does it for me. It's a shame Tom despises that era with a passion and would never have given it another go.

Paid Members Gus Mears Posted October 25, 2017 Author Paid Members Share Posted October 25, 2017 Fats Domino gone at 89, which is a good age for someone of his age. Wasn't particularly aware of him until I picked up a couple of his compilations at a car boot years back and very much enjoyed them. Quite reminiscent of Fats Waller (hence why he was named as such), which is one of the higher compliments I could ever pay a blues pianist.

When I saw Rambling Jack Elliott, he was telling the story about how Fats went missing after Hurricane Katrina and was presumed dead.  They even painted a red cross on his door but he was just out of town and nobody could reach him. Of course, it took 2 hours to tell the story. Paid Members BomberPat Posted October 26, 2017 Paid Members Share Posted October 26, 2017 Fats Domino was brilliant. It was only yesterday that I learned that "Chubby Checker" was a play on his name, which seems like something I should have known by now.
