Must point out I haven't tried the ketchup thing*, I was attempting a comparison to the salad cream thing above which garnered no controversy despite sounding even more horrendous.

(*will definitely try the ketchup thing)

In a strange way I think salad cream is the ONLY condiment that goes with a crisp sandwich.

I like most sauces but ketchup in one sounds absolutely grim I'm afraid.

I think all sauces need to stay far away from crisp sandwiches. Why would you add something to make the crisps potentially soggy?! Butter and crisps only. I'm a crisp sandwich purist.

That is exactly what I'm after.

I am legit having this for dinner now.

Calm down d-d-d-deathrey :)

Yeah agree, but if there was a sauce added it'd be salad cream

The mix in textures is what it's all about. It's what makes a great dish in my opinion. A mix in texture or a mix in temperature like hot apple crumble served with ice cream, it's top tier food.

My Mum when we were kids usd a to make a dish called Chicken Crisp

She would combine the cold chicken from the Sundays roast with a can of Campbells soup, Peas Sweetcorn from a can,Onion Then she would top it with Massive bag of ready salted crisps, which she had slightly crushed and bake it.. it was amazing.

Agree, even with the salad cream point. Salad cream is probably the outlier to my general rule, as if I'm at my dad's house - he's a salad cream ultra - ill have it on a cheese sandwich or with chips for old times sake.

KFC is shite.

But, my issue with shite like KFC is... I can make it feel worthwhile, if I do have to eat there, through sheer volume.

Fillet tower burger, 7 mini fillets, 1 piece, 6 hot wings, popcorn chicken, 2 chips, bottle of Pepsi Max.

Individually, all shite. Collectively? Yeah, fine. Feel a bit sick now though.

I can't do a crisp butty like that. I don't know if it's because of the tonal shift between the soft bread and then the sharp shards of crisps or because of autism or both.

My wife once made a hula-hoop butty.  I warned her……

Hula Hoop Puffs make a good butty, I had that once. But the regular version, not a chance.

I don't like crisp butties if it's just crisps - for me, they're there to add to whatever else is in there, they can't be a filling by themselves. It'd be like having a lettuce sandwich. It's to add an extra crunch to cheese, ham, chicken, etc.

These are amazing! They require careful placement of the Hula Hoops. You can't just chuck them in.
