Salt and pepper chips, crispy chicken, chicken wings, crispy beef, chicken balls, a big rib, fried rice, curry and sweet a sour sauce.  Marvellous!

Had a proper #EATCLEAN birthday today. Sausage and egg bap from the butchers round the corner for breakfast, beef burrito from my favourite Mexican place for lunch then out for Thai curry for my dinner.

I’ve been working from home for a couple of weeks so abused my belly with fried chicken from some of the franchised outlets. I loved the chicken itself from PopEyes, Slim Chickens probably had the best dipping sauces but… never mind George Foreman, Apple, Mickey Rourke or Steve Austin - is there a better comeback than KFC fries? They were awful last time I had them but now they’re seasoned a treat and really tasty.

I still loathe myself every time I have KFC, but yeah the fries are great.

Hampshire has just got its first Wingers, which is a new one on me, and I'm going to Andover next week, so will report back on the quality.

I tried Wingstop for the first time a couple of nights ago, and they were lush. The fries were decent, too - nothing special by themselves, but I got them lemon & pepper-seasoned, and they complemented the chicken, which is the point.

If there's one near you, I'd recommend giving them a go. Their Brazilian citrus & chilli coating is very nice indeed.

Wingstop

My memories of sampling Wingstop every time the truly gluttonous slobs I’ve shared an office with ordered FAR more food than even they could manage, is that they also had some cracking sauces.

To be honest, I think I like sauce more than I like food these days.

It's the most wonderful day of the year. Off for my annual Wimpy and subsequent evening spent on the throne.

To add to Wingstop chat, I'm not the biggest fan. The sauces are excellent, but I felt like it was bad quality chicken when put against Slim Chickens. I'd down a vat of their Korean BBQ sauce though.

Got a bag of the hickory nuts from Aldi.  Half the bag is the seasoning!  Always up for  extra seasoning on crisps and nuts but these are inedible.  Sifters most of it off but still not good.

I had the new KFC Drip burger, which was OK, but to be honest I found it a bit too spicy.

I like spicy things but that's not really what I'm looking for from KFC. I've also just had a bucket for one, two fries and mash, and have a wrap to eat as well.

The self loathing will last a week.

Morrisons' chipotle & honey sausage rolls are excellent.

Grabbed two of these on Saturday along with two southern fried chicken thighs from the hot counter ; and they were hot. £4.50 for two pieces is probably excessive but damn, they were good.

Getting worried about a lack of blood in my chicken stream at this point.
