Had food from Kokoro today, which is a Korean/Japanese place (assume like Wagamama, but I've never been in one)

Not massively #eatclean, but impressive. I had the Korean chilli chicken noodles (massive portion and the chicken was really tender) which did for two of us, the miso soup (bit too bland), fried chicken gyoza and then these massive breadcrumbed sort of potato croquettes things, which were wicked. 

Very decent for a chain, bit pricey but was certainly filled up by them. I assume there's loads of them in London, but I've never seen it round these parts before.

Me and my wife went to a local (ish — 90 minute round trip) Hawaiian bbq place that has opened in an abandoned car wash in Pittsboro (North Carolina).

She had butterfly shrimp, hawaiian meatballs, and chicken (barely visible), and I had smoked short ribs and kahlua pork, both with macaroni salad and veg.

Absolutely blinding — bit steep at $40, compared to the usual styrofoam container food truck stuff, but we had enough for lunch and dinner.

Meatballs were the pick.

This weekend's eating clean antics will most likely be All-You-Can Eat pancakes at the Cracker Barrel, as part of their apology tour of specials. Next week, probably a smoked negro, based on how this country is going.

Some advice for people who shun healthy snacking in favour of nibbling on a skinny sausage - recently had the inlaws over and were in Lidl, passing by their own-brand bagged Kabanos, Dulano “Kabanossi.”* We tread carefully to not offer them anything similar but inferior to what they get in Poland, but when I inspected the back of the pack I actually realized they are made for Lidl in Polska by Tarczynski, probably the best brand of Kabanos over there (though Krakus is pretty good too). A much cheaper option, (regional price differences may apply) I can currently get for £1.89 a 120g pack of the pork, pork/poultry, pork/chilli or pork/cheese, where Tesco want to charge £2.55 for the branded version in 105g bags, approx 25% costlier for about 20% less snack. It’s going to be cheaper still than the sklep Polski with the van drivers’ petrol costs plus mark up - although please continue to support your local independent for purchases of crackers, crispy nuts, fancy Lays flavours, Crunchips and so on!

* The spelling could be an entry for Minor Annoyances for me, it’s a phonetic spelling of what they think is the pronunciation of Kabanosy - which is wrong. In Polish the pronunciation would be “Kabanos-ah”. Mind you, that’s nothing compared to when I hear Yanks talk about eating “pierogies” - pierogi is already the plural, like ravioli. One pieróg, multiple pierogi. Fucking ignorance.

On a different note, this is the kind of stuff I appreciate. How many cities called Columbus are there, for instance??

The Lidl Dulano Silesian sausages are top notch too. Made in Poland for Lidl by probably the same brand you mention. They used to be £3 but are now closer to 4.  Absolutely fantastic though when heated in the air fryer and eaten with fresh Lidl pretzels and German beer. You can also just cut them up and have them cold as well as a snack.

That whole section is top notch with proper Bratwursts, Kabanos and Frikkadellens and all kinds of meaty goodness.

Nobody could be arsed to cook so we all got Dominos and I had the new Gunpowder Chicken one. It is basically a chicken pizza with curry powder just chucked on top, but it was bloody good. 

Crucially no one else wanted a slice either so a win there.

In the last 4 days I've had chippy, Popeyes and Dominos. Salad for all of next week lads.

They’re not, I checked. Says Animex on the pack which could make them Krakus or Morliny as they produce both brands. Probably Morliny as I know they do a kielbasa Śląska but we haven’t had them, I don’t think. I’m wary of asking to try them given the wife is from Śląsk but no doubting they’ll be good if they are Morliny, regularly get the big sausages of their from Tesco for the barbecue.

Shopping at Lidl is one thing but I’d get in trouble for that one.

I was tidying out the boot of my car today and I found a Tunnocks Caramel Log in the spare wheel well. The use by date says April 25. That will be OK to eat won't it?

Probably a best before date rather than a use by. If so, go for it. Use by dates are telling you not to eat this later than the date shown if you value your health.

I was out with friends for breakfast today and whilst eating I couldn’t help but notice the bloke opposite smashing baked beans with ease. I asked him if he was just swallowing them whole and he replied with a very confused “yeah?”. He couldn’t get his head round people chewing baked beans.

Am I the weird one here? Do you drink beans?

You are the weird one, but let's face it, everyone who posts here is. 

Perhaps the people who confine the beans to a ramekin have it right. Perhaps its not a ramekin, just a tiny drinking cup. 

On the other hand, of course you don't drink beans. No one ever says "I think I'll have a lovely drink of beans on toast"

Just had a massive stroke of luck. I got a Just Eat+ in a raffle that I entered a few weeks ago. I hadn't ordered anything tonight and was surprised about 10.45 to get a knock on the door delivering me a mixed kebab that came with the meat in a 10 inch pizza box that was chock full, 6 pitta breads and a box of salad, which I of course gladly accepted. It was my name and address on the delivery. 

It turns out my sister had given my log in to one of her step kids so they could get a free delivery, and they forgot to change the delivery address when they ordered. Absolute happy days as I tucked in to it, and the dog couldn't be happier as he got quite a bit as well. I couldn't even eat all of it. The best bit is her step son is a prick so I've got absolutely no problem in not paying him the money for it either.
