I had Popeyes in America a couple of years ago and I still think about it sometimes. It was glorious. Perhaps I'm being overly nostalgic about it but it was so so good. When I was in Madrid a couple of years ago passing through I made a point to walk for 30 minutes to go and find the Popeyes there (as for some reason they had expanded into Spain) and it was also amazing. The chicken is so much better than KFC, although I am basing this off a sample of 2. Also, I made a point to get KFC in Kentucky because that seemed a funny thing to do and it was easily the worse KFC I've ever had. Tepid and fatty and just dreadful. Popeyes though: top class. They also do Macaroni Cheese as a side which is something I wish was much more widespread!

I hope Manchester gets one.  We have Miami Fried Chicken, which is awesome, but I do love Popeyes.

Growing up, near me we had a Louisiana Fried Chicken and a Kitchner Fried Chicken (which even used a KFC logo until it was obviously told to take it down)

Both were marvellous.

In Cheetham Hill there's Florida AND Philadelphia Fried Chicken. I imagine every state or major city can lay claim to specialising in it.

Somewhere near my mum there used to be a "Ken's Tuck-In Fried Chicken."

Normally I'd applaud this kind of IP infringement, but thats trying way too hard.

I live round the corner from Miami and there's always a queue outside. I tried it a few months ago and found it to be basically just a Chicken Shop but with particularly chunky chicken bits. The seasoning and moistness was a bit lacking.

I use Cleo's Nashville Chicken for that kind of thing. Easily best Chicken burger I've had at home and the wings and tenders are ridiculous.

There's just Ken's in Portsmouth, which I like because makes you think there's a kindly "Ken" figure overseeing the whole operation, when it's obviously some businessman. The chicken is good, so that helps too.

Needed a coffee and a break, but both 'poncey' ones in the village had problems with their machines so went to Stainers.

It's a wonderfully more cheap and cheerful place, but just as good, and the variety of savoury goods and pastries/doughnuts is wonderful. You'll be queuing a good 10 minutes at peak lunch time, as it's so popular.

I asked them if I could have an Americano to take away, and she smiled and said "Sorry lovey, we only do filter coffee, is that OK?"

That's pretty much all I wanted! :) Lovely stuff. The strength and consistency of diesel. Perfect.

Then she gave me 4 scones for free as they were closing soon, a sausage and egg roll for 50p and two Sausage and Bacon Puffs for a pound.

These are so impressively salty its ridiculous. I've already had one and I can feel my heart rate going up. Absolutely top notch #eatclean.

I don't think I'll bother with the poncey cafes that much any more.

Third Pound Bakery in five days. Worlds collided when my gf asked for a slice of cheese on toast. Everyone looked perplexed at my dancing while shouting “CHEESE ON”

Salt & Pepper Munch Box from the Chinese.

Chips, spring rolls, chicken balls, chicken wings (stolen straight away by the kids), shredded crispy beef and curry sauce.

Curry sauce was amazing. I would've liked more beef, but a solid 8/10.
