I saw/read an interview with him a few years ago where he said he’s still traumatised by finding the body and that he was a suspect for the murder afterwards. It’s one of the reasons he became an alcoholic.

The last show I worked on was the predecessor to Piers Morgan’s Life Stories on the BBC. He was one of the guests and he talked about it. It was horrible and like you say, completely traumatised by it

Les off Corrie did a reality show about ten years ago where minor celebrities pretended to be homeless, to see what it was like on the streets. He left partway through, spending all the money he'd got begging on booze and had a terrible drunken breakdown, crying about finding the body, and ranting there'd be more money for homeless if the government stopped spending it keeping prisoners alive; "BRING BACK HANGING, FOR ALL YER RIPPERS!" Every time I've heard him speak, it gets onto the Ripper pretty quickly, so it obviously shaped his entire life.

This is more Today I Realised While Ironing (TIRWI) than TIL but I don't think there's currently a TIRWI thread - the Moose Mugs in Christmas Vacation are merchandise from Wally World.... Did I used to know that and forgot or have I only just twigged? I don't think you see Clark visiting the gift shop so was there a subsequent visit you the one depicted in Vacation? I feel like I should have known this before but it's blown me sideways

TIL that the village of Fucking in Austria has finally had enough of tourists nicking its road signs and decided to change its name to Fugging as of 1st January.

If Private Eye are to be believed, Al-Fayed will be laughing his arse off somewhere.

That we're now being issued with black British passports rather than the maroon coloured ones. I knew they'd need to change the type of passport, but figured they'd go for a blue option or even keep the maroon colour.

Saying that, since we're the NWO of Europe/EU (the Jarrett 2000 version, not the cool originals) maybe the black passport is fitting?

Are the black passports not actually the “blue” ones?

Potentially I guess, but if they are they're an incredibly dark shade of blue. I got mines the other day and if you look at it in a certain light it does appear a dark, dark blue. Other times it looks black. It may just be my tired old eyes, but I wouldn't really describe it as navy blue.

It's definitely a darker shade than the old ones pre-EU. In my opinion anyway.

I must admit that this is something that has confused me for some time - I still have my old, hard-cover passports from when I was a kid, and they're either black, or almost-black blue. I've never had a navy blue passport.

Does nobody else remember these?

I’m guessing calling the new passports “black” would upset the majority of people who voted for Brexit so we could “get our borders back”.

“Definitely not black. Just a dark, dark, dark blue. Blue, like one of the constituent colours of the Union flag…”
