Paid Members Maverick Posted March 24, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted March 24, 2013 For people you don't want to offend by unfriending you can just hide all their content without them realizing so you never have to read it. I do this with lots of old school mates/former colleagues etc it's easily customized you only have to see what you want too really.
andrew "the ref" coyne
You forgot to edit her name out of the URL too. Vicky Macauly will love the UKFF asking for side-on pictures of her tits. It's ok, her profile is private. Er so I'm told anyway... I'm sure I've seen that girl somewhere, but I don't know her personally. How do you know her, Donkey Dick? She added me years ago. I dont know her personally Is this a common thing on Facebook? Adding people you don't know? I mean, I've added people on here or people I've interacted with over Twitter etc but I'd not accept a friend request from someone I knew nothing about. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick? THANK YOU! I am utterly baffled by anyone adding anyone you don't know. I've noticed this a lot on the various joke sites like LameBook.com and FailBlog.com. I often see things like: Girl: Oh my God, why is it I can't find a nice man in my life? Boy: I'd take you out for a drink Girl: Errrrr... sorry. Who are you? Boy 2: ROFL. Burn. I just read this and wonder.... "Hang on a minute you little slag. How come if you don't know him, he's able to comment on your post?!? That says more about YOU than it does about him." Interestingly my best mate GF (who is 10 years younger than me) uses Facebook in a completely different way. Whereas I have 300 ish people on my friendship list, she has around 2,500 +. Many of which she dosen't know. It's all about the friend numbers. In fact I'm sure you can "buy" Facebook friends online to artificially increase your numbers. Paid Members ShortOrderCook Posted March 24, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted March 24, 2013 (edited) Obviously you get some people who just add anyone for those reasons but some people will add others based off mutual friends and interests etc. That's part of the massive appeal with the social media phenomenon - interacting with like minded people you wouldn't normally get to interact with under normal circumstances and is one of awesome things of the technological advancements we experience. Personally I think it's a lot more baffling people use something like Facebook to ONLY interact with people they already know in person and see in person and txt and email and so on. Twitter is where I interact with people I don't know. This exactly. But ShortOrderCook is too busy pumping iron and getting all the ladies to properly understand social networks. Paid Members ShortOrderCook Posted March 25, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted March 25, 2013 I do have a twitter. And I use it. I haven't had it long mind. But I tend to post bits on there and not check my timeline that much. I read my FB wall a lot more often but never really post, occasionally commenting on some subjects and liking shit. Most of the people I'd follow on twitter I'm already following on FB (there's some that isn't the case though) so I've just still not got out of the habit of checking FB more. And I find the whole # thing a bit annoying and don't really get it. You're probably right and I'm not doing it right. But although you and riot do that and that's fair enough, most people seem to follow everyone they know on twitter too as well as being friends on Facebook. Paid Members air_raid Posted March 25, 2013 Paid Members Share Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) “Facebook is full of people you know in real life but you wish you didn’t. Twitter is full of people you don’t know in real life but wish you did.” Sounds about right. Facebook for me is "I'm doing this" with photos and tagging people and my real life whereas Twitter is more "I think this," just randomly brainfarting nonsense/things I notice/what I think of what just happened in the football, and having random fun and also information catapulted across my bows from people/organizations I don't follow but that has been retweeted by people I do. The random stuff is usually quite welcome on Twitter, but on Facebook I get sick of my timeline getting clogged up with plugs for albums/gigs by bands that I had forgotten even existed just because I "liked" their page in 2008. Oh, and Twitter is amazing for finding out what your favourite wrestler/celebrity/footballer/pornstar etc is up to, straight from the horse's mouth. Well, hooves. RIDDUM_N_STYLE
Pretty much only use Facebook these days to chat wrestling on the Silvervision and WWE Home Video UK pages, although it be taxing doing that sometimes. It really baffles me that, even though Fremantle have been doing the WWE dvds since January, people still ask SV when they are bringing out new releases completely unaware of the change over. Or if you dare try to help out someone with a question, you get branded a know it all (trust me its happened to me plenty of times) or you get people openly slating Fremantle and arsekissing SV on the Fremantle page

UK Kat Von D
I have about 1500 facebook friends and have met about 1000 of them in person (at an extremely rough guess.) I take most of my bookings through it and have to accept everyone in case they want to get tattooed. Also friends with about 100/200 tattooists. Social media (mainly Instagram) is amazing for sharing ideas and inspiration. I will say I really hate twitter, can't stand the thing
