Bloody hell, the 15 year archive must be worth a few million on its own. Can't see the company having assets that make it worth much more than that though. I sincerely hope it doesn't end up as just another section on the Network though, WWE purchasing it is the worst case scenario.

I just used the article as I have zero way of knowing what they actually owe but since they have been dying in the next month or two since at least when they started running Impact on the road around 4 years ago, you have to imagine they have been getting in debt since at least then.

Those on the road tapings must've cost them a packet. Eventually, the tapings were selling abysmally. And one Impact shows the massive amount of empty seats in the arena they had in a few shots.

I have no idea if the contracts are transferable but im guessing they would all need reworked.

The names I mentioned are a lot better than Brian Myers & Jinder Mahal, apparently TNA & ROH offer more per apperance than WWE for guys in that level, which is why they have been turned down by other former WWE stars.

TNA's archives would surely be where the money is? Stick some of Styles' and Joe's matches on there. The inevitable "rise & fall of TNA" and if you can get some of the guys on board maybe a TNA invasion of NXT? Plus it'd fill more gaps and maybe get a couple more buys of the network?

There was a rise?

In all seriousness I don't think there would be much interest in a documentary, as it was never as impactful to the industry or have vast knock on effects like the territory ones they did or WCW and ECW. The Tape library would be a good buy though for obvious reasons.

Doing a Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior style bury job is about all you'll get out of a documentary. As Butch mentioned, TNA's impact on wrestling isn't much of anything other than a place for talent to get paid good to great money for minimum dates, for a few years, and Bob Ryder to get noshed off.

The usual rate WWE pays for a tape library seems to be between $500-$750 per hour dependant on who you believe. I've seen estimates TNA has about 1600 hours of Impacts and PPV's so you're looking at a number in the high hundreds thousands to just over 1 million for the main library, not including ONO specials and the like.

I think WWE would only be interested (and would only get it at that price) if TNA actually went under, but I'd say that's a worthy price for Network content. The wider masses might not care about a TNA documentary or TNA matches on DVD's but the types of fans who are Network subscribers and watch things like the CWC and NXT probably would make it worthwhile at a price like that.

The tape library would be of use now WWE has AJ Styles, Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe (plus all the other people who've turned up there over the years) but I can't see what spin they could do on a documentary. As Butch said, there's no rise to speak of, there's not even a fall as such. "It was there, it was good for a bit, then year on year it just slowly drained away until there was nothing left" isn't the most riveting subject matter. What would the story be? "We tried, we failed, we kept going, and going, and going, and then didn't, the end"?

Probably is the best time to buy the library than at any other point in history. Their World Champ spent most of his career there. You could do an unreal AJ comp if you had his TNA footage. And if Samoa Joe and Bobby Roode become a big deal in the next year, that footage would be good to have.

The Dudley Boyz DVD was hilarious when it brought up them leaving in 2005. Bubba Ray tried to make out like they'd spent a decade in Japan trying to be the modern day Road Warriors. It was like "fuck off lads." WWE didnt want them back and TNA was spending the money on them. Its not like they had a choice whether to stay in WWE or not.

A right piss-taking documentary series on the WWE Network would be great. Put it this way, we all love looking back at 2000 WCW for a sick, morbid kind of pleasure. With TNA, there are FOURTEEN YEARS of pretty much the same daft shit. In some cases, even worse.

Or they should dramatise the entire run instead. The actress that plays the older singer in Nashville is more or less Dixie Carter anyway, so that's one bit of casting sorted.

Didn't the Hardy Boys DVD mention Jeff's first stint briefly? The Spanish announcers at WrestleMania XXXI mentioned Sting's tenure there. What other times has it been mentioned in some form? Because it does seem somewhat hypocritical to go out their way not mention them at all, yet get the library which is virtually the only major thing of value they have and go on about them. That would come across as hoarding rather than collecting.
