He was barely making up numbers in NXT until the crowd liked chanting '10' a lot with him. Fair play to him, he found a way to get over and arguably overachieved in recent years. His appearance at the Royal Rumble a couple of years ago was a very good moment, fantastic crowd reaction. He'll probably end up as one of NJPW's top gaijin stars now. And while I’m sure the usual “he wasn’t being used right” and “they buried him because the 10 chant got over” are being thrown around on social media, he was only ever going to be a solid hand used to make the real stars look good. He had loads of clever, genuinely funny "10" spots that had the crowd howling. He was never going to be a main eventer but Indy promoters and even AEW could do worse than to bring him in to add a bit of fun to their shows.
