I imagine you're look at short sets though, you're not getting a two hour Metallica set in the middle of that, so in that respect he's not totally wrong that this is probably going to be set up like a Live Aid type thing. Probably with lots of guest appearances from members of the bands late in the day to help out Ozzy who is arguably in no condition to be performing at a show like this, so that's probably the only way it can work. 

I last saw Ozzy perform 15 years ago and his voice was shot to shit and he looked like he was about to keel over then, so God knows what he'll have left to offer now, but I suppose it doesn't matter if this really is his swansong.

Oh yeah, I'd be imagining 30-40 minute sets tops until you get to Slayer who I'd imagine will get closer to an hour as they're playing for the first time over here in years. Metallica I'd expect an hour, maybe longer. They've already said Ozzy's solo set will be short, hopefully to at least get Bark At The Moon in with Jake and then the full Sabbath set. I'm more intrigued about how they fit in the all-star cover band.

The first and last time I saw Ozzy was also 15 years ago and he was everything I wanted him to be.

I saw Sabbath on the tour for 13 and thought Ozzy was decent enough. He was much worse on the Farewell tour a few years later. 

I think the best time I saw Black Sabbath was probably the Dio / Appice line up in 2007 when they were promoting The Dio Years compilation. That was great. 

Managed to get AC/DC tickets for Edinburgh this morning as a birthday present for my wife. An expensive and miserable experience...BUT ENOUGH ABOUT MY WIFE~!

I saw the last performance of Black Sabbath in 1999, and then again in 2012.

Ozzy was still great on the 99 show, but he was past it by the 2012 show, he should’ve packed it in years before his health forced him to.

As for the sets talk, yeah no way is everyone playing a full set. 40 minutes each upto Pantera and Slayer, who might get an hour each. 80-90 minutes for Metallica and then whatever takes them upto curfew for Ozzy & Sabbath

I’d be very surprised if it isn’t at the very least live-streamed. I’d imagine a condensed version making it to DVD/BluRay eventually, but in this day & age a livestream is almost a given.

One thing I’d not see mentioned yet is that there’s a presale at 10am on the Tuesday ahead of the general sale next friday

Guns n Roses, Tool and Rival Sons have been added to the massive Sabbath gig in July.

Rival Sons are shite, they’d definitely be the pissbreak/divas match if I were going

This is basically going to be like that Taylor Hawkins Tribute show at Wembley where the bands come on and play 4 or 5 songs with some special guests thrown in every other song, isn’t it?

Ozzy said in an interview the other day he’s only going to be doing a couple of songs with Black Sabbath.

I said exactly the same earlier, it breaks me to say but he's extremely unwell and constantly bound to a wheelchair and while he can apparently sing he's not going to be able to perform a full set. 

Let's cherish and enjoy him being with his fans for the last time, I'm even more in love with him for sticking to his word and doing it here not in America.

My dad has got Parkinson’s, and from what I have experienced over the years it can be extremely difficult to guarantee points in the day where you know for sure that the medication will be working and you are able to do the tasks you planned to.

I imagine the advantage of it being an all day event is that they can kind of do things as/when people feel up to it, and work around stuff as best as possible. There is going to be some crazy scrambling backstage on the day of the show…”does anyone know the words to Bark at the Moon?”

I get that it makes a lot of sense for Ozzy to not do much, and it was reasonably clear that was going to be the case already, but it's a pretty bum move to heavily advertise "THE ORIGINAL LINE-UP OF BLACK SABBATH WILL BE PERFORMING TOGETHER" and have Ozzy Osbourne separately listed on the bill, and then wait until after you've sold all your £800 tickets before saying, "yeah, Ozzy will probably just be doing a couple of songs".
