CTXRussomark Posted February 18, 2025 Posted February 18, 2025 I genuinely don't think those who paid the insane prices (or the majority of them at least) will care - the selling point of the show is one last goodbye to Ozzy so as long as they get at least an appearance, a couple of songs, and a final curtain call at the end, I think everyone will be happy. I expect there will be a load of video tributes, old clips/interviews etc. in between sets which will make Ozzy feel more present than he's physically able to be as well. Quote

All in Southampton, which is where I go for 90% of my gigs because Portsmouth, where I live, is lacking when it comes to my musical tastes. Anyway, I have Raging Speedhorn, Zeal and Ardor, Zak Sabbath and Rivers of Nihl. Two of those in my favourite venue, the Joiners Arms, which also has Earthtone9 in November, I think, 24 years since I last saw them there. Quote

New in that it’s the first time they’ve done a one dayer in December, and the first one dayer for nearly 20 years. They gave it the Gabbo build on social media with lots of people getting g excited about it being someone for the weekend in August. For some reason lots of people thought it was for Acid Bath ??♂️. Don’t know if that’s the whole lineup for December or if some more will get added, but not much there that I’d fork out for. Quote

Only went to the Joiners once to see 3 Inches of Blood, me and my mate still talk about that gig, amazing little venue. Quote

Not to be all "Guess who I got to hang out with" but when we played with Eyehategod and Goatwhore *CLANG* in December I spent most of the night chatting to Sammy Duet as he got progressively more drunk and we had a good chat about Acid Bath shows. He admitted they'd been offered Hellfest but wasn't sure whether they were going to take it. I'm still convinced the special guest slot they kept secret was for them and they ended up turning it down. Anyway, as for UK shows he said it was being discussed and that if they did come over here they'd want to do it as a tour with at least a couple of dates and not just come in for one show and fuck off. I hope it's the case because demand will be through the roof to see them. Going off the chat on the Damnation group their fee is ludicrous but I didn't have the bollocks to ask him how much. That did make me concerned they'd just end up being a Download exclusive or something. It'd be ace to see them in a relatively small, grotty venue. Quote

For him to um and ah about fucking Hellfest it must have just not been feasable to work in other shows around it. Considering how quickly the shows they're doing with Windhand/ High On Fire/ Pig Destroyer all sold out it's probably more profitable to just stay in the states and smash out sold out shows with their mates for the time being. Copies of this go for ridiculous money on the secondary market, even bootlegs sell for close to three figures. An absolute essential of the Death Metal genre (it’s not just a name after all), it’s out on May 2nd and is up for pre-order in a bunch of places. Relapse Records have rereleased the other albums a few times, most recently in 2023 but they don’t own the rights to Symbolic, thats still owned by Roadrunner hence why it hasn’t been repressed in so long or as much as the others Quote
