More controversial perhaps: I absolutely love Limp Bizkit's take on "Behind Blue Eyes" and never really cared about The Who.

I’m with you on this - it gets slated quite frequently, but I think it’s an excellent cover.

Was going to hold off on posting any Dylan covers, because let's face it: it's like shooting fish in a barrel. But Manfred Mann's cover of You Angel, You is pretty great:

There are many brilliant covers of Trusty Chords, Dave Hause's in particular, but I have to say this is one of my favourites, by Koehler:

3 pages in, WTF?

I prefer this to the original as well

I love the original but this version holds a special place in my heart.

This is a great summer bop, but it’s the best version.

Much prefer Iggy's version of China Girl. Too sanitised on Let's Dance. Iggy sounds like he's having a nervous breakdown, which is appropriate given the context of the song.

How did I forget one of my favourite bands of all time?! Faith No More have some fantastic covers and in most cases, I prefer their version - War Pigs, I started a joke, This guy's in love with you. I always loved seeing their live covers too. Last few times I saw them live, we got belting covers of Delilah by Tom Jones and Pokerface by Lady Gaga.

Nativity in Black has some brilliant cover versions on it. I think the 1000 homo djs (trent reznor & ministry) version of Supernaut is better than the original.. the industrial grittiness just suits the song so well.

Now we're talking. This is a hell of a cover.

I still refuse to believe this wasn't originally written for an episode of Knowing Me, Knowing You.

Devo have some fantastic covers, all of which I’d put above the originals.

Also They Might Be Giants’ version of Istanbul is class but I think everyone knows this.
