We're so bombarded with things because of the internet and social media, that to create and sustain anticipation and excitement across a wide audience doesn't really happen anymore. It's all down to individual preference. It's why films don't have the same buzz about them before release. WM also these days perhaps doesn't have the same air of being the pinnacle anymore. Sure you have the big stadium setting, and I'm sure the buzz is great whilst you're there with so much going on, but with so many PLE, many of which have better line-ups, WM is only slightly different because of the stature of its name. I personally miss that big build-up buzz though. Quote

I’d argue the buzz and build up is far bigger and better than last year. Twelve months ago, the best thing they had going was the Cena heel turn, and that was practically dead on arrival. It became clear almost immediately that it wasn’t the original plan, they were making it up and re-writing on a weekly basis, and neither the writers nor Cena had it in them to make it work. Other than that, this time last year was a fucking mess. A load of rubbish builds to crap, cowardly booked multi-person matches. Seth Rollins stinking up the Roman/Punk dynamic. Iyo, Bianca and Rhea having a game of who can look more stupid and unlikeable every week. Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton being an absolute car crash. It took longer for things to come into focus this year, but it’s far superior. Two solid, hot Main Events with Punk/Roman and Orton/Cody. Not a single multi-person match announced thus far. Even Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi. I loathe to give any credit to the Dental Disaster, and he shouldn’t be on my television at all, but there’s no denying this is the most motivated and the best thing Brock Lesnar has done since the Goldberg stuff a decade ago. It’s a super hot, intriguing match, with Brock willing to sell and show more arse than he has in forever. On the metaphorical Road to Wrestlemania we might not be speeding at 100 mph, but we’re making good time. Last year, we’d already lost control and drove off a cliff. This alone is better than the entirety of the Wrestlemania 41 build. The way he laughs at his own joke is fantastic. I always wanted to see Roman as the universally-accepted top babyface, but it’s now obvious he’s best cast as the cocky dickhead. What a brilliant prick. Edited March 27 by Supremo Quote
