SaitoRyo Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 So apparently Rhea's mask was supposed to be a tribute to Art the Clown but all I'm seeing is The Phantom of the Paradise. Just me? Quote

Rhea has an official merchandise collaboration with Terrifier (including the lovely Christmas-themed t-shirt below) and there have been rumours that she's going to be cast in the fourth film. CM Punk just really likes horror films. Quote
Paid Members TheBurningRed Posted December 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted December 2, 2025 One of the worst spots in wrestling is the gathering around waiting for the dive. We take the tv camera angle for granted tbh. Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted December 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted December 2, 2025 I saw a video recently of a spot where someone jumped off some barrels from a fan filming and the ref was holding the barrels in place for them. It's rotten how much they completely expose everything. I'm not a huge fan of live wrestling so don't got much but I went to AEW in Glasgow and had a great time but did find the brawling absolutely horrific. Preaching to the converted, I'm sure, but Bret is right. Quote

Paid Members FLips Posted December 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted December 2, 2025 (edited) Wade Barrett going “this is about to go VIRAL” is all you need to know about shit spots like this. Wrestling isn’t for the live crowd, they’re the money marks paying four figures for mid tier seats, it’s for 3 second TikTok clips. Doesn’t matter to them if the spots are exposed. Paid Members JNLister Posted December 2, 2025 Paid Members Posted December 2, 2025 As I said a couple of days ago, WWE War Games matches make much more sense when you realise they aren't primarily matches but rather live recording sessions for next year's opening package. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted December 5, 2025 Paid Members Posted December 5, 2025 Joe Tess, on this week’s Raw; “you know you’ve made it at War Games when you’ve got your own customised garbage can.” Game. Has. Gone. I predict every weapon is sponsored by next year’s instalment. Quote

I reckon we are only 5 years tops away from someone yelling cut in ad breaks then Triple H giving someone a hug and redirection before the ads for Snickers WWE shop and misdiagnosis lawyers finish. Whenever I see wrestling live it always takes my brain a little while to adjust because so many routine, standard spots look fucking crap in person but on TV with the right camera angle look great. Paid Members air_raid Posted December 26, 2025 Paid Members Posted December 26, 2025 (edited) I’ve watched some of the men’s War Games yesterday morning while chopping onions for stuffing and here’s some of my thoughts. I don’t know whether it’s the production overall I can’t stand or mostly the commentary (especially Michael Cole) but watching WWE matches is no longer enjoyable for me unless they’re old ones. Hearing Cole say Punk was in War Games last year as a favour to Roman Reigns annoyed me so much…. Cole, did you just decide that it makes more sense for the story that’s going to be told tonight and lie, or is that genuinely how you remember it rather than the truth, that the favour was for Heyman and the whole turn at Mania and Vision storyline hinged on it??? Twat. Ring announcer is shit, the pause before “…. Chammmpion” is awful, I don’t like how she says it and saying “his opponent” at the start of a multi man is wonky as opposed to “and representing The Vision” or “and entering first for his team” or whatever. Wade saying Bron has an issue with the leaders and power structures in the industry didn’t jibe with me - what’s Heyman then? Cody running down to help Punk with the minimum of hesitation instead of “doing his entrance” made me happy. Cole asking “what kind of damage” the Duds could have done in War Games at the sight of a table was more drivel since they did wrestle cage matches with table spots and nothing would match the carnage that happened in all the ladder matches anyway! The production truck “spontaneously” being ready to cue Jeys music for the Yeeting was fuck awful, why did the babyfaces not push their advantage harder knowing Lesnar was up next???? Illogical, captain. On the other hand, sacking off the timer so Lesnars music hitting cold to interrupt the nonsense - great. Maybe it’s because I didn’t watch any of their matches after 2018, but I found myself strangely invested in seeing Lesnar and Reigns fight again. The resultant confrontation was fairly good though the F5 onto the gently-collapsing table wasn’t anywhere near as good looking as it should be. GTS and Crossrhodes combined to Lesnar was good. Got a kick out of Heyman telling Logan “Use them wisely” of the knucks, Reigns spearing him looked good as did the Superman punch to the flying McIntyre. Reigns little face to face with Bron was also good. Closing chaos was fairly enjoyable and I liked Breakker telling Cody “You will never be as good as a Steiner.” Masked man finish was shite and took the edge off what I’d started getting into. Fun by the end and at least in Bron pinning Punk it set something up but ultimately still felt a bit tick-boxy. Glad they use two rings, it was shit when it was only one, but winning by pin means it’s still not the true spirit of War Games. And the overall presentation is woeful. Decided by the end I actually don’t mind Barrett but Michael “for the win” Cole is dragging him down. I’ll probably pass on next years unless something crazy happens like The Rock is in it.
