RedTwoster Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 I hate Roderick Strong. It’s an opinion that will shock many of you given that I’ve basically kept it to myself, but it’s true. He bothers me to the point I can’t even watch his stuff - I have to skip past him the moment he appears on screen. Which wrestlers have or have had that effect on you, and why? Quote
Paid Members BomberPat Posted September 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 8, 2025 increasingly MJF is that guy for me. I think it annoys me more because I know he's capable of being much better than he is. But every promo is the same, from content to delivery, his insults aren't funny, his lowest common denominator edgelord material is hacky and lazy, he can't keep his character consistent, and he clearly thinks he's smarter than he is - every promo, every match, and every angle he's ever involved with seems to take three steps when it could take one, and because he's always flitting from one point to another, he never actually gets his teeth into the heart of a story. I dread wrestlers I like getting into storylines with him, because they either never get satisfactorily resolved, or they become a muddled mess and nobody gets over from them. His run with the Hurt Syndicate helped nobody, wasted hours of TV time, and achieved nothing, and still isn't even the worst thing he's done. Quote
Paid Members gmoney Posted September 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 8, 2025 Jon Moxley is unbearable 95% of the time. Quote
Paid Members tiger_rick Posted September 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 8, 2025 All of the no marks from the Undisputed Era. Hitting the fast forward button when they're coming on TV is the fastest I do anything. I love that TK and family produced this alternative environment that is more like what I want to see from pro-wrestling but decisions like hiring these absolute losers are why we'll never be on the same page. The Gaffer Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Great thread idea. Since Rollins and the Undisputed Era have already rightly been named, I'll go for my historic option: Bear in mind this is pre him using free Wi-Fi points to do the old man yells at workrate gimmick. This bollocks was a pox on WCW broadcasts as soon as I started watching them. Everything about his presentation reminds me of how often you'd see wrestling depicted as the dumbest shit imaginable (I know...) in other forms of media and everything about his position was WCW's mid card philosophy at its worst. The same guys in the same spots for the same amount of time for an eternity. There's so many Nitro's I've put on over the years cautiously optimistic this would be the one where I'd get a reprieve, only to get that sweeping shot from the top of the arena and the tinny "Disco Fever, Disco Fever, Disco Fever, yeah yeah yeah!" tune playing out in one of the first few segments. Paid Members ReturnOfTheMack Posted September 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 8, 2025 Mercedes Mone. But only her promo stuff, in ring she's usually great. Quote

RedTwoster Posted September 8, 2025 Author Posted September 8, 2025 Another one from me - Andrade. Whether it was Andrade in AEW, or the version of him in WWE, he’s just so boring. His ring work is top notch, but he has absolutely nothing to offer from a character perspective and it makes it impossible to care about anything he does. I can’t remember the last time I bothered to watch a singles match of his. Obviously now he’s in a tag team, which leads me nicely on to… The entire Smackdown tag division. I have no issues with the majority of wrestlers in that division or the teams they’re in. Booked differently, I imagine I’d really like most of them. But they’re treated as a collective, so I’m going to treat them like that. At the moment, I whizz past their matches and segments, and the division has been so tainted by the way it’s booked it would take one enormous overhaul of I’m ever to care about the people in it again. It’s the tag version of the Jericho vortex Quote

Hated him as well. Poor man’s Honky Tonk Man minus the heat and sequins. Prick had the audacity to use the Stunner as well. Best story I’ve ever heard about Disco was when Arn Anderson slapped the fuck out of him. As Double A told it… Disco: Oooh, what are you gonna do? Beat me up Horseman style? *SLAP* Arn: No, that’s Marty Lunde style motherfucker. Beautiful. Fully deserved. Have it you little weasel. Quote
Paid Members Supremo Posted September 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 8, 2025 (edited) Cody’s murder of Disco on Twitter still rivals Wrestlemania 40 as the highlight of his career. My picks would be Timothy Thatcher and Mercedes Martinez. At some point, you’d begin to wonder if there’s a reason you’ve wrestled everywhere forever and never received a big break. It’s because you’re boring and shit. Edited September 8, 2025 by Supremo Quote
Paid Members TheBurningRed Posted September 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 8, 2025 Timothy Thatcher is a great shout. Saw a match with him and Drew Gulak once that made me want to rip my eyes out it was so boring. Jinder in that singles run was fuck off viewing. I’d say Okada is up there for me. He just doesn’t have that magic anymore and I just don’t want to watch his matches at all, even with his great opponents. I would not nominate Roddy or Kyle O’Reilly as I’ve always enjoyed them. Sure, Strong does lack a personality. But some of my favourite ROH/PWG and even NXT matches have been with Roderick Strong. Quote
Michael_3165 Posted September 8, 2025 Posted September 8, 2025 Moxley for me too. I haven't seen much of his that has impressed and I don't "get" the gimmick at all. The banging skewers into his bonce did it for me. I won't watch anything he is in nowadays, it just isn't for me - less blood and weapons and maybe I would consider it. Quote
Paid Members DCW Posted September 8, 2025 Paid Members Posted September 8, 2025 Big Show has always annoyed me in that way. Like he should be good at something, even looking treathening while stationary, but he could never even do that properly. I suppose the crap name didn't help. But it doesn't matter if it was attitide era Show, the time they were stuck and tried to pretend he was a threat to Brock, knocking around with Jericho being a boring tag team, the Mayweather stuff or the time he tried to steal Bryan's yes chant. He's always been a frustrating, annoying bastard. Every time I'd hear that stupid theme song intro '(Welllll') I knew the next 20 minutes would be dull as fuck. Quote
