That sounds like just an in-built hatred of and refusal to accept any of the Saudi shows could ever be decent. I’m not saying it was the best show ever but it certainly wasn’t the worst of the year or dog shit. Quote
Chili Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 Seen a few bits and bobs about a Cody/Cena double turn. Now, the last I saw of anything Cena turned on Cody because of The Rock (?) and is now trying to ruin wrestling. What has Cody done to become a heel by trying to free the title from Cena and is Cena showing babyface signs again? I don't see how Cody would be a heel even if he cheated to win the belt back. And in the end will it all just depend on who Travis Scott interferes for. Quote

He liked the Rhea match and parts of the main event. He only watches AEW and WWE PPV’s so that is his scale. Edited June 28, 2025 by Hannibal Scorch Quote

How is a match ever meant to find it’s footing and build to the finish when the crowd start at 100%? The drama gets absolutely killed. I do agree with this, but I suppose when you only get a few shows a year you are going to maybe over react to things, even if they're simple. Quote

AndyUK Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 Enjoyed Punk v Cena for what it was, the exact formula all of these Cena matches should be at this point. Must admit I was half expecting Roman at the end though to set up a Rollins match at Summerslam. Quote

Not a great deal sadly. A strange one this. It was in a death spot and the crowd had negative interest in it from the start, which didn't help. Jade's Storm outfit was excellent, worked around the horrible attire restrictions on the Saudi shows and still looked great. Asuka was more of a babyface than Jade, and if they want Jade to be cheered it didn't help that the match was structured as if Asuka was the clear babyface. Everything she did looked excellent, but she was playing the clever babyface underdog trying to ground and outsmart the monster heel. If they wanted sympathy for Jade, I'd have had Asuka attack her before the bell and further go after the injured knee, then have Jade work the match on one leg. I don't think Jade was THAT bad overall, but her failure to sell the leg for longer than about 10 seconds definitely scuppered any chance she had of being the babyface here. Also she did botch the finish, can't deny that. Pretty sure she was meant to do one of those cool transitions into Jaded where she catches someone mid-air and then whips them into position for, it but instead she had to put Asuka down and pick her up again, which massively reduced the cool factor. Her other power offense and reversals and escapes from Asuka's holds all looked fine though. She didn't look completely lost like she has in the past. I don't think this match had a chance of succeeding no matter what she did though. Maybe I have also slightly over-estimated how carriable Jade is. Her best singles match was still the one against Kris Statlander, maybe it's just that Stat is brilliant. It's probably that. I love her. All of that said I still wouldn't write Jade off. Perhaps I'm delusional but I still think the qualities she DOES have are so undeniable that I wouldn't be able to give up if I were the promoter. Edited June 28, 2025 by JLM Quote
