I want Hearts to win the league badly, but I can’t see them overcoming O’Neill’s Celtic. Given the amount both Celtic and Rangers are spending on transfers this window compared to Hearts, it feels like an impossibility. Then you have the Shankland injury. If Hearts win today, the league is theirs to lose. The stakes are very, very high and the stress of that is giving me second thoughts about even watching this match - it could ruin my Sunday if it doesn’t go they way I want it to! Quote

I think the most worrying thing was how bereft of ideas we were. And also how Eze looked like he hasn’t quite yet mastered the art of controlling a ball. But I’m sure the return of our lumbering oaf-in-chief Kai Havertz will propel us to the title. On the plus side, a few more results like this and we may yet see Man U take the interim-manager-gets-the-permanent-gig doom loop for another outing. Quote

There's a clear depth issue in the United squad - some of the benches they've named in the last 18 months are an embarrassment for a club of that size. However, the signings, bar Sesko, under Amorim have been really good and created a very strong first XI at least. The difference in the way they're set up, the way they fill the spaces without the ball so as to not expose people like Casemiro, the energy in the performances and the directness and bravery to try stuff going forward is night and day. Some of it reflects badly on the players but mostly on Amorim. I watched Hull City v Swansea on Saturday and although we won, we couldn't get the ball off them in the second half. For 10-15 minutes yesterday, Arsenal had the same problem with United. It was remarkable stuff from just a few weeks ago. The interesting thing is now all the "Should Carrick get the job?" posts and videos are popping up. That's natural but surely United have been down this road before and stick to going and getting a big name in the summer? Quote

Hearts were impressive yesterday, from what I saw, and more than deserved something. Rangers form looks ominous for them. Rangers have Hearts at home soon, that's a huge game. Quote
