The thing is, if we brought in someone like De Zerbi or Xavi, would they want the job to the summer only or would they say 'I want a 4yr deal and you have to stick with me as it won't be an overnight success'. Work with the fans to explain the longterm logic and all that and we MIGHT just see some positives. Failing that, it seems a shoo-in that Poch is returning in the summer. There's never any question about him being the right man for the job, despite having spent almost all of his top tier managerial career either treading water in lower mid table or actively involved in a relegation scrap and then getting fired. Kelly Cates asked Michael Brown on 5 live if Forest were in a relegation battle on Tuesday, and his reply was along the lines of, of course not, Dyche is a great manager, they'll be fine. Obviously we've come to expect such shit from the man who said "Look at that!" on radio commentary, but what's he basing that on? Years of garbage football and one 7th place finish with Burnley? Or Danny Murphy last night, before the sacking was announced. "I think for this battle at the bottom, you wouldn't want a better manager than him." The guy who was sacked by Burnley during a relegation battle and they improved masssively but still went down? The guy who was sacked by Everton during a relegation battle and they just stayed up? I know Nuno failed elsewhere and did a good job at Forest but to go to Ange, Dyche and Pereira in one season, all on the rebound from sackings at Spurs, Everton and Wolves is some mad thinking.
