They record two episodes a fortnight, one current news and the other with a guest. The guest they had in the wings was Big Ange. The Frank news broke during the first record so they rushed Ange in to get his view. They must only be gutted they don't record Thursdays or they'd have got a two-for-one. Quote

I couldn't watch this every week as its just so miserable (and features Gary Neville) but obviously I watched this for Ange, a man who I am convinced if he asked me to join a cult, I absolutely would. No wonder the players have said they would've run through brick walls for him. You can criticise his methods and ideology all you want, but you will never ever convince me that the majority of the shit he got, and gets, is because he's Australian and says mate. Probably would have done it by now if I was still into blogging and tweeting. TIL (yesterday actually) I've seen 2-time Serie A title winner, and one of the best Slovak players (after Hamsik) since their independence - Stanislav Lobotka. Did not know he was in the Trencin team we played in our brief Europa League foray in 2014. Remember Moses Simon from that tie, he was exceptional and we should have signed him the week after but, not Lobotka. Was somewhat baffling to play Chelsea on Friday, the Champions of the World, with a squad assembled for over a billion quid and two £100m+ players on show and they've got our striker and manager from two seasons ago. RedTwoster Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I’m still getting over the Rangers/Hearts result from yesterday (4-2 to Rangers, if you’re unaware). It was a tremendous game, a great advert for Scottish football, but the result was gutting for anyone wanting Hearts to win the league (ie. me) That said, we’re in a mad situation where Hearts, Rangers, Celtic and even Motherwell are all in with a shot of winning the title. If you can all join me in praying to the football gods that the Glasgow teams both fail this year, that would very much be appreciated. Quote

Hearts are still in the driving seat with a decent run of fixtures to come but Celtic are finding a way to win games they're not great in, while Rangers look much better than the other two at the moment. It was a great game and I'd agree with you that the whole title race is a good advert for Scottish football but it was pretty poor quality. Poor passes all over the place. Couple of catastrophic goals conceded. Celtic are clearly a much better team, technically but, have a really soft underbelly. Did find it amusing that Steve Clarke was in the studio for it. Presumably just there for the payday because there was hardly any fucker for him to be worth scouting! Quote

One of the (sad, pathetic) things I like to do is look up games I attended as a kid. Sometimes surprised at players I have seen live but have no memory of. For example, I saw Djorkaeff play for PSG against Celtic in the Cup Winners Cup in the 95/96 season. I saw Steve Bruce and Brian McClair play for Man United. That one ages me big time I think. Quote
Paid Members JLM Posted February 16 Paid Members Posted February 16 (edited) Liverpool/Olympiakos 04/05 is my favourite match I’ve ever attended live because of the second half comeback and Stevie G’s belter of a strike to send us through with ten minutes left. Also gave me a legendary name to add to my “greatest players I’ve seen live” list because Rivaldo was on the Olympiakos team. I remember noticing he did not warm up before the match. Everyone else in the squad did a pre-game jog around the edge of the pitch and he just did a few keepy uppies instead. He also scored the free kick that necessitated the aforementioned miraculous 3 goal second half comeback. Edited February 16 by JLM Quote
