I've seen this under it's previous "The Wrestling" banner at the Edinburgh Fringe and thought it was a good laugh, but can't imagine it translating well to TV.  The wrestling itself was pretty basic for the most part and the comedian aspect was very much "Celebrity Wrestling" in nature with tongue in cheek heel promos and the big babyface win at the end, but as a live show it worked as a bit of light relief and a break from the rest of the festival.  It's absolutely not something I could imagine myself watching on TV at home though.

Am I right that the Max who co-runs it is the former Max Voltage who wrestled a bit for FWA/IPW:UK back in the day?

He is, yes.

If you are watching this for the wrestling them you are here for the wrong reasons. It will be daft silly fun with occasional bits of wrestling. Gamble is a big fan, though he does like Progress so it's not all good. In true britwres style though they had to draft Ivo Graham in as the MC at 3 hours notice because Adam Hills couldn't do it. Rumours that it's because Steve Lynsky nicked all of his artificial legs have not been verified.

AEW

This is very silly. You can find certain aspects of AEW "shit" and that's fine, but to say the entire company is shit just can't be true.

I only ever really watched for Danielson, and haven't watched any of it since he hasn't been active (just my preference) but they clearly aren't a shit company.

Not liking things just means you have less fun.

To paraphrase a great poster from these parts, these sort of statements should be followed by a sad face not made as declaration of pride.

It must really suck to have such a myopic range of wrestling you enjoy. I mean I'm ok with my reasons for not watching WWE but it still means that i'm missing out on the good stuff they produce.

The original post was shite but this take is kind of baffling too.

The things I'm consciously not into largely just aren't for me or I don't have the time for them, competing as they are with other interests.

They're choices I make so I can have more fun, not less.

I'd agree with you, but then I do spend a large amount of my December watching Xmas films I know will be absolutely shit.
