Paid Members Devon Malcolm Posted March 17, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted March 17, 2025 The only good part of the final was Liverpool fans booing the national anthem. A fine tradition. Quote
Mr_Danger Posted March 23, 2025 Posted March 23, 2025 It might look blue but it will still taste red! Although by the look of the char on that thing sauce taste won’t be a concern. Quote
Tim Healys Chutney Spoon Posted March 30, 2025 Posted March 30, 2025 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ceqj0ddy9j8o Lovely little article about Simon Grayson going from his exploits here to now managing a team in Nepal! Quote
Gooner Posted April 1, 2025 Posted April 1, 2025 Really good win for us tonight. Saka has been sorely missed, but back for this game and scores on his return. Great to have him again, but shame we lose Gabriel and Timber during the game to injury, which sums up our season when comes to positive and negative news. We got it to 9 points now and we have to win the last remaining eight games in the league, deal with Real Madrid in Europe and see what happens. Quote
textonly Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Saka coming back tonight was really lovely. It's been his first notable injury lay-off and the love for that boy in the stadium was palpable, to a point I'm not sure I've experienced with another player - even the true greats of the club. Everyone was so excited to see him, so pleased for him that he's back and obviously overjoyed he scored on his return. There's something truly familial and beautiful about the connection between him and the fans at the moment. It just made me wonder if there are any players you guys feel that way about at your clubs (or did in the past). Not just because they're good, mind, but because they are/were lovely too. Quote

There are plenty of players I like and respect (and others who made maybe more of an impact) but the only one I get that feeling with is Ledley King. For me (and perhaps most of my generation) he is "Mr Tottenham", he loves the club and I just love him. Quote
Ironic Indie Lad Posted April 2, 2025 Posted April 2, 2025 Henrik Larrson at Celtic I will never be able to watch this without getting slightly teary. AMUSING ANECDOTE - When Eddie Guerrero died I got quite upset and my dad mocked me for this. My mum was very quick to remind him that he was a mess when Henrik left Celtic. Quote
Paid Members Weezenal Posted April 19, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 19, 2025 Have Arsenal membership as you need it to get tickets, this year they have a ballot so it’s drawn at random who gets them. I forget most weeks or haven’t won anything all season. Somehow I won for the first Madrid game at the Emirates which basically made the year’s membership worth it for me. What a game, it was mental in the Emirates and the loudest I’ve ever heard it in there. Most people said it might have been the best game since we moved there so feel double lucky for winning. Quote
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted April 19, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 19, 2025 Fair play. Probably the best game you could possibly have attended at the Emirates since it opened! Quote
Mr_Danger Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 Call me optimistic but I think Liverpool might win the league. I’d take a loss on Sunday and a point against Chelsea if it meant Arsenal having to give us the guard of honour at Anfield just for the spiteful joy of it but they’re so shit in the league these past couple of months we’d probably win it in defeat against Spurs anyway so might as well beat Spurs 10-0 instead. Paid Members tiger_rick Posted April 24, 2025 Paid Members Posted April 24, 2025 Channel 5 have secured some of the Club World Cup (Ugh) games from DAZN. Pat Nevin and John Barnes dusting their best suits off. Quote

I did read that all of the big broadcasters turned it down, which does go to show that Sky will show KSIs Baller League, but not this shitshow and quite rightly. Quote

Hard to blame them, outside of a handful of teams it's made up of utter dreck, such is the disparity in quality between the various leagues. The Baller League would probably be more entertaining, such is how low the bar is for the competition. Quote
