The most horrifying thing about that is that, given his profile in the US and the general horrendousness of the American electorate, I can envision it happening. I know he renounced his citizenship, but I don't imagine he couldn't get it back.

I've just looked it up to be sure and there is a third criteria I didn't know about. You have to be a resident of the US for 14 years.

For anyone who missed it during the downtime, Netflix announced the Vince documentary to be available from 25th Sept.

Is it surprising that Netflix will be broadcasting this? They're due to start showing WWE programming next year (Jan?), so not the best advert for it? Or is it a case of them getting in there first with it, almost owning the fact that they have entered into a huge money deal with a company that used to be owned by a terrible person but caveating it "but that's all changed now"?

Completely futile and disconnected from the awfulness discussed in this thread, but I HATE when a boxing ring (4 ropes) is used to depict wrestling.

The latter. It's both companies trying to put that past out of sight and doing so in a very public way. There's nothing wrong with that, of course, and the WWE product has recently shown a pleasing change of direction but for companies this size it's primarily a business concern.

This will be shit, though. "From the executive producer of Tiger King" and the fact that it's a Netflix documentary have already scuppered it.

Mr. McMahon died on his way back to his home planet, Janel Grant was unavailable for comment, RVD was unavailable for comment, Ronda Rousey was TOO available for comment and we had to tell her to stop calling. HHH will read the lawsuit by Q4 2025 he just has a totes crazy schedge right now, little bit too busy… ummm… selling out arenas worldwide! Fuckin’ nerds.

I'm quite curious to see who they've interviewed, or more importantly, who they show. Going to presume they won't want Triple H or Stephanie anywhere near it. Presumably Netflix and WWE don't want any old timers who are going to say something stupid on it. I'd presume you'd want to keep your current roster as far away from this as possible. 

Wonder if that will force their hands into giving more time to the victims?

Yeah I can't imagine she's going to do an interview for a documentary while in the middle of an ongoing legal case regarding the exact thing the documentary is about. That'd be a disaster.

Yeah it's 100% the right decision on her part, and her lawyers. It's unfortunate in terms of the way the documentary will pan out as a result, and presumably Netflix getting this out now before the WWE programming starts airing meant they couldn't wait til after the legal stuff was sorted for the sake of the documentary (and again fair enough too, the legal process is far more important!)

It's a weird one, because at one point there was supposedly a Vince docuseries in some stage of production that had Netflix following him around before his first departure from the company a year or two back. I wonder if that footage actually exists, and if so if they can use it. I'm sure it'll be fascinating, and diffcult to watch regardless, but the massive pivot this project likely underwent is fascinating.
