Because its not a wrestling show. Its an entertainment show that's wrestling adjacent. It's the same as how Lovejoy was an antique adjacent drama. The only real difference is that no one starts threads on a forum calling Tinker a cunt for having a racially insensitive name.

People are talking about Over the Edge 1999 again because you could have assumed Netflix might have been ran by more normal, mainstream people than the WWE Network. It’s certainly something I’d have asked in the meetings. Remind me again, which was the show where one of your wrestlers fell from the ceiling and died horrifically? Yeah, I think we’ll skip that one.

Best is always the people complaining about Martha and the kids working with AEW and refusing to allow Owen to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Imagine your Husband/Dad died like that and they still put the show up for On Demand viewing, just with a cheeky edit to remove his accident. It’s so fucking grim.

One thing I’m already finding quite annoying is that the continue watching function for a PPV doesn’t automatically continue the PPV you were watching. For example, I’m part way through Wrestlemania 17, but when I click on it in my continue watching section it starts playing the most recent Wrestlemania instead.

Call me a cynic but there’s loads of people out there who’d, out of curiosity or sheer nostalgia, watch old WWF shows from back in the day but would never dream of paying for a WWE streaming service.

I’m willing to bet, out of morbid fascination if not anything else, quite a few people’s first port of call will have been Over the Edge 1999.

I've already had people who haven't watched WWE in years message me about how they've watched a show since it's been on Netflix.   Of course they'd never pay £9.99 to WWE, but they've already got Netflix.  Whether they'll watch regularly or new stuff remains to be seen though.

Am expecting a ton of this in work tomorrow. It seems a fair bit easier to use than the Network. But I miss Three Count already.

People on site were talking about wrestling when the WWE Vault started to upload to YT, but in the last few days since WWE has started to make a presence on Netflix the messages and that have gone through the roof to me, I dare say we are close to any sort of boom, and we can only speak for ourselves and our own personal friend groups and whatever, but I can say I haven't seen this level of interest in wrestling in years.
