So the Greta Thunberg thing where their boat/shop has been intercepted by Israeli forces and well, I genuinely have no idea how they're going to get around this. Obviously she's extremely well known so they'll be some sort of negotiation but the world is fucking mental at the moment so yeah, I just wondered what anyone else thought. Not that I'm valueing her above the people already lost, it's just a big story isn't it. Yeah?

It's a potential turning point for many who somehow didn't have an opinion after all these years, sadly it takes a young famous white woman to be involved before some really care.

When I read the story that the boat was intercepted and they were going to be shown videos of the Hamas attack on October 7th I get visions of her being strapped to a chair ala Malcom Mcdowell in A Clockwork Orange.

That Israeli government is quite mad. You could show me all the videos you want but you'll not sway my opinion that starving and bombing civilians to root out a terrorist organisation is in any way humane. I really hope with all of my faith in humanity is that this isn't a deliberate genocide but the government are really quite insane.

I've got a mate who lives in LA and he's told me these "riots" are being completely blown out of proportion by the press and US government and are only taking place in a very small area. He lives pretty close to where they're mainly happening and he says if they weren't on the news he wouldn't even be aware they are taking place. It's being completely weaponised by the right wing media.

Yeah, shit has just turned up to past what was already eleven, hasn't it?

Netenyahu has supposedly fled the country during Iran's attack that got through the Iron Dome, of course there are people who are saying it was down on purpose so America can retaliate blah blah.

No idea why Israel decided to attack Iran right now though, they just can't stop attacking anyone close by.

Because they can and they seemingly don't give a fuck anymore than usual in the mask off gangster era

It's basically the inevitable consequence of decades of the US and the West letting them off, every single time, for things that they sanction or attack other countries for.

The US was negotiating a new nuclear treaty with Iran which Israel refused to accept. By attacking now they know that will completely fuck the deal.

Gaza: Doctors Under Attack is something everyone should watch, but obviously its harrowing so tread carefully if you're not in the frame of mind to handle images like that.

Good on Channel 4 to pick it up and show it after the BBC commissioned the documentary and then bottled it. I mean it is pretty damning of just how calculated the IDF have been, not news to most people, but its still shocking. And the worst thing is, none of these cunts will ever face justice for what they've done.

Bless the Palestinian people and free Palestine always.

There's a cult in my town

It's a beautiful building, local chat was that it was housing asylum seekers (of course it was) but this is something else. Might hang around & see if I can get a cameo in the inevitable Netflix documentary....'David Crewesh'.

It's amazing how badly this plays. It's as if there's a whole part of society that is largely ignorant of what Israel is doing. The reports about the aid distribution leave me to think we are living in a different dimension to the western media. How they continue to present the situation,in the manner that they are. Is at the very least,  utterly bizarre.

Sorry I didn’t know where else to post this.  I like the idea of walking down the road to the corner shop, picking up a paper and reading it in the garden with a cup of tea (maybe Dull Man’s Club thread would have been better?).

Problem is are there actually any decent papers? My only news content is popping in to the BBC app occasionally and I really need to improve that.

As far as I’m aware The Sun are cunts, The Daily Mail is a right wing rag and the Daily Star is for children. Are there any others worth looking at? Where do you get your news? I left social media and don’t want to go back so that’s not an option
