This whole bit is packed to the brim with amazing jokes but two absolute gems I have to pick out:

"This match will determine once and for all who is the greatest nation on Earth - Mexico or Portugal!"

Some absolute gold in there still in series 9 I think?

I would say Season 10 is probably the last one with multiple episodes I enjoyed and remember quite well. After that it's a bit of a blur for a few seasons until they're all pretty rubbish and forgettable.

Kind of sad to see Season 10 was still in the 90s. That's a really bad ratio.

Season 11 seems to be the transitional season where the episode stories become incredibly stupid and bad but the jokes themselves are still pretty good. It's then officially shite from season 12 onwards.

The first film holds a special place in my heart. First cinema trip for my nephew with me, and me and the kids watched it loads when they were younger.

The gap between the beginning of the show to the first movie is smaller than the gap between the first movie and this new movie will be once it’s released.

I’ll still go see it but I hope they go all out insanity on it, maybe even have it be a retirement movie for 1/2 of the voice actors, namely Dan (Homer) or Julie (Marge) who’s work is getting obviously aged per season

Maybe they do the big blow off entirely? 

2027 will be the 40th anniversary of the characters first appearing on the Ullman Show, maybe they've decided it's actually time.

I think they're renewed past the release date of the movie? Might be wrong but I think they'd have at least one more season after it.

Funny bit of trivia ( and i may have mentioned this before on here) but in 1995 me and a few of my friends made a couple of grand betting on Maggie Simpson shooting Mr Burns.

Yes - I think the show is renewed until 2029. Which would be the 40th anniversary of the first full episode …
