The lack of interest in the above sticker book was one sign, plus the Hasbros coming to an end around that time really felt like the bubble had burst. I don’t even remember knowing the green card series even existed at the time. Never saw them in shops, heard anyone talk about them or know anyone who owned any of those figures. Last ones I remember getting were the series with Bam Bam and Yokozuna. I was still as into it as I ever was but it felt like pretty much everyone else lost interest overnight sometime in 95. This bastard the year before though… Different story. I don’t know what it was like for any of you but in my school, it felt like every single boy (and even a few of the girls) had this. The stickers were like actual currency for a while there. Deals were made, alliances were formed, friendships ended, tears were shed. I saw an actual fist fight between two lads one dinner time over a Doink “shiny” or something. Bloody nose over a Doink logo on a bit of silver card. I ended up completing the album eventually but had to cheat for the last few stickers I needed by sending off somewhere for them in the post. Serious business though. Cut-throat stuff. By the time the Undertaker one was out there was already a bit of a drop off from the prior year, and yeah by the time the Diesel cover came out there were less than a handful left who really followed it anymore. This one probably got a lot of traction as IIRC it was given away free (along with a pack of stickers) with an edition of the WWF magazine (I think with an Adam Bomb cover). But if you think that was the bad boy of the sticker world - go back to the original black cover 1990 version. Now that was on fire! In the first few weeks of its release you literally couldn't find a pack of stickers for it anywhere as they were selling out so quickly. I remember walking between 5 newsagents in my hometown one lunchtime (remember those days when there were newsagents) during school and everyone was sold-out. Quote
The Reverend Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I still have my completed (only sticker album I ever completed) of the 1990 black cover. I regret not doing the same for the blue cover second edition (1992 I think) but they had released the first series of collectors cards by then and my limited funds went on these instead - I did complete this set and still have it. I believe the Undertaker rookie card in it is quite sought after. Oh to go back then and have the finances I have now! I'd have even more stuff crammed into my cupboard of wrestling tat...collectibles....than I have now! Quote

The 93 album with Bret on the cover was my first. Yes. Think I was just short of finishing this one though. I also have memories of my Dad coming back from a car boot sale with this bad boy… Thing is it came with a separate plastic bag with all the stickers in it. So I’d completed this within 10 minutes of getting the thing. Satisfying as it was to be able to finish it, it kind of defeats the point of a sticker album. The fun is in the hunt for those more rare stickers. Although saying that, if this hadn’t came with all the stickers it would’ve been utterly pointless for me because I hadn’t seen one shop anywhere selling the stickers. Quote

They were in our corner shop for a bit and we all went bad for them. WWF wrestlers stuck all over the park and bus stop. Quote
