TibBo Posted July 2, 2025 Posted July 2, 2025 I always assumed that Bobby Heenan wore the 1 strap singlet to wrestle as a bit of a tongue-in-cheek gag, as that was what Andre wore and he was in the Heenan Family... Somehow I never put it together that Heenan was wearing it long before Andre & the Heenan Family connection. Quote

That he was trying to dress like Andre and be a mini me, but looking nothing like him. So does that mean Andre wearing it was to signify him turning heel and aligning with Hennan by wearing his style of attire? Quote
TibBo Posted July 9, 2025 Posted July 9, 2025 Powers of Pain were in WCW in 95! No memory of this at all. Quote
Chili Posted July 10, 2025 Posted July 10, 2025 That Scott Stanford left WWE this week after being employed since 2009. Forgot he existed, nevermind that anyone probably knew he was still employed by them. He actually had a nice broadcaster voice and I remember him most from them trying him on commentary on Superstars with CM Punk, was shockingly, a bit of an arsehole to him. Quote
Ro_y Disco Posted July 10, 2025 Posted July 10, 2025 That's quite a remarkable run for someone that never did anything remarkable. I always liked him whenever he'd pop up in pre-show rundowns and the like. I assumed at the time the Punk hazing was a Vince edict, but maybe it was just Phil being a cunt. Quote
boshealecta Posted July 13, 2025 Posted July 13, 2025 Going through old RAW and Smackdowns from 2000. Today I learned that Right to Censor were actually the good guys and were right all along. I mean I think everyone agrees in hindsight that the women were objectified too much. I feel like I owe them all an apology. ? Quote

Paid Members Carbomb Posted July 29, 2025 Author Paid Members Posted July 29, 2025 TIL that the name "Martel" comes from the Old French word for "hammer", so when Rick Martel fought Greg Valentine, it was a Battle of Hammers. Quote

boshealecta Posted July 29, 2025 Posted July 29, 2025 What about Ax? Also maybe other superstars can have a slight gimmick change. Kurt Angle Grinder? Alistair Black and Decker? Quote

CTXRussomark Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 That Haku isn't in the Hall of Fame. Blew my mind. Just one of those guys I assumed must be in (during the earlier years when the likes of Heenan, Iron Sheik, Santana, etc. were being inducted) despite having no memory of it. Has it ever come out why he's not in? Seems a bizarre exclusion given he's part of the extended Samoan family, seems to always be spoken of highly in interviews, and never seemed to be on bad terms with the company. Quote
