Always find it interesting to think about the alternate timeline we would’ve got if this would’ve went ahead. Was Vader supposed to win the title off Shawn at SummerSlam or here? I’m guessing here with the In Your House the following month being named ‘It’s Time’, so presumably that would’ve been Vader vs Bret leading into Vader dropping the belt back to Shawn at the Rumble, then Shawn vs Bret at WrestleMania 13. Crazy how literally none of that happened and Big Sidney swooped in and got a couple of turns with the belt instead. What a mad time at the top of the card late 96/early 97 was. And this isn’t even factoring in Undertaker or Austin and Mankind who were both well on the rise by this point.

A photo from before the bell at a WWF show at the Aichfeldhalle in Zeltweg Austria from 1994 (top bouts Lex v Yoko and Razor v HBK)

I love seeing photos or videos from when WWF ran smaller venues like this. It looks the set up for an Otto Wanz CWA show from around the same time, not WWF.

Similarly, this is a photo of an event held by WCW in September 1994 from the "Kalkbergstadion" in Bad Segeberg (near Hamburg), Germany 

Headlined by Sting v Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan v Ric Flair the venue is an old style amphitheatre cut into some rocks by the looks of things.


 

It was just a few months earlier WWF ran a show outdoors on a ski slope in Innsbruck, Austria.
Quite the sight seeing wrestlers enter down a hill to get to the ring.

We interviewed Richie for our wrestling card podcast squared circle relics at the weekend and he has so much of this stuff. He's starting up a studio next year and going to do a book of his dad's career in items, most have never been seen by the public, which sounds incredible

Dunno if it was an old Observer or Twitter, but ages ago I’m sure I read Hogan got $450k, and Andre got $500k for doing the job, or numbers around that level.

I can't recall how much Bobby got for managing, but I want to say it was in the range of $100,000. I believe it is or was the biggest manager payday ever.

I think nobody (apparently) got the big 1 million payday until Hogan at Mania 5 if I remember rightly?
