I think the rain is the reason they were going so late yesterday. It was raining earlier in the evening, and then there was a break in the rain later so I'm guessing they took that opportunity.

I got one today that annoyed me. Its from a huge business show looking for business/exhibitors and the subject was "Are you ready for when the sh*t hits the fan?"

Shit? Shut? Shot? Shat? I'd have had more respect for them if they'd just spelled the naughty word properly. Idiots.

Less minor annoyance and more fucking catastrophe, but we've just had our bathroom done in our flat and the downstairs neighbour has let us know there's a leak into her bathroom from ours. Clearly the fucking cowboys we got in have fucked it up somehow. Now waiting for an emergency plumber to arrive. 

We had complained we could smell a damp smell and they said it was nothing to worry about sealed something up a bit more.

Update to this, two plumbers have been and can't find the issue, we've had tiles ripped out and no joy. Currently waiting on a leak detection company to arrive to rob us blind and shrug their shoulders.

Not a fraction on the same level as above, but I switched away from reading comics in print form about two or three years ago on account of the print being hard to read even if I put my glasses on, plus the chaotic layout of the speech bubbles meaning you were inclined to read stuff out of sequence.

Upgraded from print to digital by buying a Kindle, which is far superior on account of zooming in and guided view. Only problem is that some panels are in portrait and others are in landscape, so you're at times having to rotate it back and forth like a steering wheel in order to see stuff in the right perspective.

First world problems...

If you were wondering and thought this saga probably finished on that day, you are dead wrong. I haven't updated anything because this has been genuinely been one of the worst 10 days of my life. Which sounds dramatic. However, our old as fuck block of flats has a communal boiler, with stopcocks to stop the flow to individual flats for basins, baths etc, but ours had rusted away to uselessness so they couldn't turn anything off without draining the whole block's water supply. Also, in our building we're only allowed to use block approved plumbers to drain the system or change stopcocks.  Of which there are two. One's been away for about a month somewhere and the other was on holiday. So we've had to wait until they got back before they could do anything. Four days that was. Then they would fix what they thought the issue was, then that would turn out not to be it. I'm not going to go through every complication we've had, but essentially it's taken until today for it to be finally found and fixed. It was a dodgy pipe connection made by one of the bathroom installers {from Wickes} in August. It's was a tiny, tiny leak, in the wall that took that time to completely saturate the concrete beneath our tiles and into the flat below. 

I can't really explain the relief. I've not been able to think about anything else the entire time, had about 2 hours of broken sleep a night, catastrophising and being on the verge of a panic attack multiple times a day. It's obviously not worth the stress, but I do feel genuinely joyous to have come out the other side. I've lost about a stone as well. Oh, and just another advert for Wickes and the teams they use, they also didn't fit a waste water pipe correctly, which would have only showed itself in months, or years probably. Time to compo hammer these cunts.

In a weirdly similar boat, the wife woke me up last night at 1 in the morning. Crawled across the bed on all fours. Got right in my face and did a little shhh with her finger. I thought hello, my lucks in here. Nope, she wanted to tell me the ensuite bathroom was flooded. Somehow the radiator just sprung a leak in the middle of it. Had to give myself a YouTube crash course on isolating radiators. There's a not so lovely brown water stain on the kitchen ceiling which needs addressing once everything has dried. The wife's had the heating ramped up to a tropical 25 degrees to try and dry out the adjacent carpets which seems to have worked.

I've noticed a LOT recently of watching things and them ordering and saying "Can I do the chicken burger" etc. Can I do??? Utter, utter cunts.
