Email their HR department and explain and hear back at 12.30 today explaining the interviews are today, so one day notice, and the only slot left is 1.30pm, which I can't make at an hours notice. And employers wonder why they can't fill their fucking positions. I did actually get an interview for this role, one that I absolutely loved the sound of, and had it today, and I came out of it feeling really disappointed. I felt I came across really well in what I said about me personally and my experience, but I massively waffled during my actual answers and feel gutted. There were 3x of them and they were typing as I spoke, which is normal, but I got the feeling towards the end that they were actually messaging each other and that deflated me. They also kept looking out the window at colleagues walking past and gesturing to them or smiling etc and that really distracted me. And it pissed it down while I walked from the station there and turned up looking like a drowned rat, which I did acknowledge and play to my advantage. Oh well. Quote

We picked up our keys in June, then were hauled into a meeting in July to tell us the night shift would be closing in September. The arse dropped out of me, but it turned out to be one of the best things that could’ve happened in the long term. Hopefully if the worst happens, you can look back in six months time and come to the same realisation when you’re much happier somewhere else. Keep your head up. Just goes to show that talking absolute bollocks pays off, as they called me this afternoon, said I blew them away, they'd actually like to create a special role for me and offered it to me! I was amazed, really thought I'd fucked it. Gonna get a kebab in the rain to celebrate! Quote
