DavidB6937 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Definitely wasnt enough to make me want to sit through all the shows on a weekly basis but it was fun to watch live at a reasonable time. I'll take Finn/Punk as something new to enjoy. I am really impressed at how they've made Austin Theory even more boring though. That's quite something. Quote
Paid Members RedTwoster Posted January 19 Paid Members Posted January 19 Not a bad Raw. I won’t go as far as to say WWE is back to where it was at the peak of the post-McMahon era, but it’s certainly achieved a level of consistency that it had been lacking for a while. AJ Styles accepting a career match at the Rumble is an odd one. On one hand, Gunther losing would render Cena losing a little bit pointless. On the other hand, Styles retiring in Saudi Arabia seems strange, never mind at a show at which his retirement would be overshadowed by the two Rumble matches. My guess though, is that he’ll win, building up to Brock Lesnar’s last match at Wrestlemania, which Lesnar will win. Good luck getting the ‘Mania crowd to cheer for that deviant, Triple H. J’Evon Evans getting injured so soon into his main roster run is incredibly unfortunate. Hopefully it’s not as bad as it seems. Quote
Paid Members Callum1993 Posted January 20 Paid Members Posted January 20 I wonder if they’ve moved the AJ retirement to the Rumble so they can then have Gunther retire Jericho at Mania? Then can do the same with Lesnar at Summerslam? Quote
Paid Members mim731 Posted January 20 Paid Members Posted January 20 The wording of this will be interesting, because if it's a case of Styles retiring if he fails to beat Gunther, that's harder to get around than Styles retiring if he loses. I would be surprised if this isn't some sort of non-finish and they then drag this out to Mania. Quote

Snitsky's back acne Posted January 20 Posted January 20 WWE, you were in Northern Ireland, not Ireland! Sorry, had to get that off my chest. Quote

Which they said multiple times, and they specified the "island of Ireland", which is accurate. Given the thorny nature of the history and socio-political make up of the North, I don't think they did a particularly bad job of representing everyone fairly there. There's plenty of sticks to beat the company with, and fairly, not sure that's one of them. Quote

It was a minor annoyance "First TV show from Ireland...." except that one in Dublin last year which was actually the first TV show in Ireland, this is the first one from Northern Ireland. I didn't get much sleep last night so woke up grumpy and annoyed at the world. I'll get over it. Quote

To be fair if memory serves me right Michael Cole did immediately then try and correct his mistake and made reference that it was Northern Ireland he meant. Quote
