Adam Rose was good though.

Only until they changed his entrance theme then it was all very quickly downhill.

I forgot to watch Raw this week and so did everyone else judging by the last three pages.

Yep, for 7 glorious days he was the most exciting thing in wrestling. Then it was over.

I'll never understand why having made an edit of the "real" song to get to the "woah-oh" chorus right from the jump, they then made a knock-off that took ages to get to the hook.

You are the company that you keep. Two hoss bad asses like Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, but you team them with Seth Rollins and they instantly become a pair of loser dorks, just like him. Look at the state of them.

“This is my vision,” Seth remarked. I’m sure it is, you absolute whopper. The exact same energy as the silly mid-card comedy act on the other show.

An otherwise mostly boring, rubbish Raw, with the only highlight being Finn having the time of his life watching Dom’s Drama unfold. He’s low key the funniest man in the company.

@Supremo consistently using the phrase 'absolute whopper' for Seth Rollins never fails to make me laugh. You couldn't find a more fitting term for him. Since WrestleMania, I've barely watched an episode of Raw, such is the effect of the man.

A narrative existed online for the longest time suggesting that AEW does not tell stories. That was nonsense, and it would be unfair to apply it to WWE. Suggesting that WWE barely progresses the stories they do try to tell, on the other hand? That’s accurate.

The company continues to feel like it’s in a cross between a holding pattern and Groundhog Day. Seth Rollins cuts a long, aimless promo. CM Punk attacks him. And again.

Meanwhile, over on Smackdown, John Cena cuts the same long, aimless promo that he’s cut countless times since turning heel. Someone attacks him, and we all shrug our shoulders.

Nothing really happens episode-to-episode. It’s small developments at best, none of which are memorable in any way. Long term storytelling is all well and good, but there should at least be a feeling of things moving forward.

I'm back to just watching clips because life's too short unless there's a particular match that stands out but there rarely is.

I can watch the PLEs without feeling like I've missed much.

I can't even do clips anymore since I twigged that for me personally - no matter how great those clips are - it just doesn't feel like I'm properly enjoying the thing that I enjoyed for years by clearing two hours and absorbing into it. So that's pretty much WWE out the window. I'm either watching your TV show or I'm not.

Even if we’re conservative and say CM Punk has been feuding with Seth since around Survivor Series of last year, that’s still a similar time period to his entire first AEW run before the ankle injury, when he managed to have matches against Darby, Penta, Hobbs, Dustin, Wardlow and Garcia, form tag teams with Sting, Moxley and FTR, and have feuds with Eddie Kingston, MJF and Hangman.

That Netflix documentary on their creative process should be fascinating.

”Any ideas for CM Punk? He’s been getting some huge babyface pops. We should capitalise with something big, fresh and exciting.”

”….”

”….”

”Another brawl with Seth Rollins?”

”Perfect.”

Yeah this thread is really speaking to me. I think this is a record for WWE with me, for how quickly they've taken me from being red hot for the product to ice cold. Cannot be arsed. I haven't even looked at Instagram today, I now just open the website quickly to see what the headline is. It's the quickest way to gauge how little I care.

So deflating.

I just checked Cagematch, and CM Punk has had eleven matches on TV or PPV since returning to WWE. Eight of them have involved Seth Rollins. Of the three remaining, one was a Rumble and one was War Games.

One of the criticisms of his AEW run was that, similar to Cody Rhodes, they played things too safe and left a lot of potential big matches on the table, and that's true, but he wrestled against more different opponents in his first month there than he has in this entire WWE run so far.
