Eurgh, they're going to make Seth Rollins "Mr Money-in-the-Bank" aren't they?

That's "hahahaa Mr hahahaha Money hahahaha In The hahahaha Bank ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha" to you.

I didn’t join in the recent Seth hatred because I wouldn’t have been adding anything that hasn’t already been said (more bothered about getting his shit in, whacky costume ≠ personality etc) but Seth throwing his pretend paddy the night Punk came back set him up for the near 18 months that have followed.
“oh, these two legit hate each other, let’s run with that” - no, let’s not. Ok, if you have to, give it 2 months to let them get it out of their system and then move on. But no, we’re still stuck with them all these months later, with even less of an ending in sight than ever

I just checked Cagematch, and CM Punk has had eleven matches on TV or PPV since returning to WWE. Eight of them have involved Seth Rollins. Of the three remaining, one was a Rumble and one was War Games.

One of the criticisms of his AEW run was that, similar to Cody Rhodes, they played things too safe and left a lot of potential big matches on the table, and that's true, but he wrestled against more different opponents in his first month there than he has in this entire WWE run so far.

The amount they’ve stretched Seth vs. Punk out, and constantly gone back to the well, you’d think they were creating magic together, but it’s been anything but. They’ve proven to be a dreadful pairing. Two and a half star city Jones. Zero spark. Embarrassing striking exchanges.

I genuinely think Punk had similar - if not better - chemistry with Bobby Fish going into business for himself, and Hangman Adam Page, who he feared was going to start shooting on him.

Knowing how Seth has always been a pet project of Hunter’s, it was super depressing watching that opening promo. Given his own, shitty version of Evolution. Doing the Triple H opening promo of Raw where…ugh…he talks…urgh….really slowly….urgh. It’s enough to think Hunter has done a speed run through his own Attitude Era so he can get to his own version of 2003 and 2004, which Hunter always thought was better anyway.

In conclusion, Summerslam will be headlined by CM Punk and Seth in a Three Stages of Hell match.

I did that a couple of weeks ago after coming to the conclusion @Supremo did that he seemed to do a hell of a lot in AEW initially and has done next to nothing in WWE that I've wanted to see. I get that they are treating him with kid gloves after all his injury problems but for a guy that talented and with so little time left to have worked with so few people, held no titles and not had a chance to elevate anyone feels a waste to me.

If he's supposed to be the big baddie on Raw, it makes sense to let him win that and then screw Jey Uso doesn't it? You need to put the belt on Seth to make the act work and you probably don't want to treat Uso like a big loser - more than normal - so it'd be a win-win wouldn't it? It's what they do, anyway.

I saw a clip from Penta's match, I thought Chad might have broken his neck; that looked nasty.

Not the best view but you get the idea:

In their defence, if they were to do that, the first stage of hell could only be the pair of them sharing a ring together, and the second, the bell ringing.

It makes sense and they absolutely should do it but....eurgh, it's Seth Rollins.....with the Money in the Bank briefcase....and THEN the World title after he screws Jey Uso......eurgh....Seth Rollins.

This going to be a speedy up tip off of 04-05 sans buggering up Orton isn't it? They'll have tension between Breaker and Seth by Xmas but it will be way less natural and more forced than the 05 version. Then Breaker dominates at the Rumble, more tension when he and Seth are in the chamber and then jolly old thumbs down into Mania.

El Grande Americano is one of the worst WWE gimmicks in some time. It’s a bad joke that’s outstayed its welcome. And I think he’s going to win MITB, and cash it in the win the AAA belt.

Something almost nostalgic about a below average WWE product, filled with bad vibes, being kept alive by excellent CM Punk promos. 2012 all over again.

The first half of that opening promo was phenomenal, especially the bit about Cena and The Rock. For a split second, anything felt possible. Someone actually injecting some life into this Cena heel run! A CM Punk WWE run where he isn’t feuding with Seth Rollins! Imagine! Free at last! Free at last!

Then Sami Zayn came out and it all came crashing down, back to reality. A promo focussed entirely on Seth. A mid-show run-in from Punk to attack Rollins and his goofy mates with a chair. A completely perplexing main event finish where Seth, Bronson A and Bronson B cost Punk the match, giving El Grande Americano the win, closing the show by leaving him lying. The Netflix debut was literally six months ago. This is still going on. CM Punk vs. Seth Rollins. Then. Now. Forever.

I realised who The Seth Riders reminded me of, in their crap suits and cheap sunglasses! Seth-ern Justice!

I hope I’m wrong, but it feels extremely obvious that Seth is winning the briefcase, cashing in the next night after Jey Uso vs. Gunther, and winning the belt. Hunter gets rid of the briefcase gimmick as soon as possible, fully builds the show around his Golden Boy, and the Three Stages of Hell Summerslam match between Punk and Seth Rollins finally takes shape.

A couple of chants of, “We Want Truth!” from the crowd, yet no-one mentioned poor Carlito, whose absence was far more noticeable. Did he steal the PS5 on the way out? Good for him.

Stephanie Vaquer looked good, but she needs a new finisher. That was rubbish! Is it the same back breaker Chris Jericho used to do?

Average show. Building your brand around Seth Rollins is a complete disaster. The Haters said he was a shit mid-card act at best. And they were correct. Honestly, great call from The Haters.

Still a million times better than Smackdown.

CM Punk winning MITB, and laying out a simple challenge to Cena at Summerslam for the WWE title.

They had it right there.

I can see Rollins winning the participation belt pretty soon and then having Punk chasing all the way until Mania, where he finally wins either the Rumble/Chamber and faces Rollins in the main event of night 1 again.

Boring.
