It’s fair to pull up WWE on ‘wait times’ when a lot of that is made up of loving tributes to billionaires and old racists shilling beer but the promotional aspect of the wrestling show has always been as important if not more so than the wrestling. Why watch the wrestling if they don’t give us a reason to care? This show was way imbalanced on the aforementioned bullshit side but it did feel like a lot of feuds were being bookended here. I would worry that without ad revenue they’ll just wheel out more and more celebrities to shill their cbd oils and podcasts though.

'Wait Times' hahahaha, for fucks sake. It's absolutely mental that there are people out there in the world that obsess over stuff like that and are able to miss the point of a wrestling TV show so spectacularly. Even more mental to think it's worth sharing here.

I fucking beg them to do the same for an episode of Raw in 1998.

”These fucking Val Venis matches are wasting precious segment time”.

When The Rock appeared, his glasses looked like they were held together with a plaster in the middle, so I thought he was doing a Dudley’s tribute.

Unrelated, and I don't want to go full Doog here, but it felt really weird that your Raw champion wasn't booked.

I wonder if it’s because they’re planning to have the champions switch shows? I’ve never been a fan of them doing that, but it certainly seems possible.

The stopwatch wankers got everything they ever wanted in those late Vince years, when his brain was dripping out of his ears. All they ever aired was long, drawn out matches that went on forever to fill TV time. Bet they couldn’t believe their luck when he had that weird thing about advert breaks, so every other match was either two-out-of-three-falls or they’d find some convoluted reasons to re-start it.

It was some of the worst TV of all time, regardless of the fucking, “wait times.”

Seems a fair shout. If they're back to a situation where Raw is clearly the priority, then surely it has to have the title with the prestige that's coming off a 4 year Roman Reigns title run as opposed to the toy belt they made up recently, along with Cody as one of the 2 biggest stars in the promotion?

Hasn't it already been reported that Netflix want Cody and Roman on Raw, so Gunther was always going to get shifted to Smacky-D or drop the title to someone on Smacky-D

There were reports along those lines, but I can’t imagine USA would be particularly happy if WWE were to completely strip Smackdown of all its stars given what they paid for it, so they’ve surely got to throw them a bone of some sort. I’m just worried that bone will be Seth Rollins.

Another story finished. Between this and Cebeebies, he’s flying through them now.

I've tried to work out today why The Rock has made me so angry.

Over the years I've leant into being 'angry' about wrestlers; Cesaro and his 'twat siren', Seth Rollins and his being a twat.

But, I've never hated them per se, or been legitimately angry. They're just wrestlers I don't particularly like watching.

But The Rock? Absolute prick.

And I think the reason is how patently obvious it is that he thinks we're all, and all people like us are, utter cunts. Complete and utter derision for wrestling fans seeps from his massive pores.

We all bemoan the latter years of Vince and how much the company hated the audience; but no single athlete better represents that than The Rock.

It's like an on again off again relationship with a toxic ex, who wants us for a fling to make themselves feel better when no one wants them, but the minute they get the eyes from someone else we're left sad, doom scrolling their Facebook to see if they've posted any new pictures (or whatever heartbroken young people do these days).

He expects vast swathes of the show to be rewritten for him; then again when his rewrite shits the bed and people aren't just happy to see him; then again when he decides he's happy just being a famous actor again.

Fuck off mate, you boring prick.

WWE is doing well. It's got a decent product (a lot of the time), decent talent and it doesn't hate its audience. It's okay to watch wrestling these days AND have self-esteem. That'll do for me.

Stay away Dwayne. We only want positive characters around this locker room

That bored the arse off me. 4 matches, a thousand vignettes and interviews. Cena brought it, though. He was good. Hulk Hogan getting booed was hilarious. The Rock was dog shit. Just a big wank fest for what was essentially a standard WWE style show.

Gunther is the bone. His omission certainly gives Doog the bone.
