I don't think anyone wants to see Sami turn, but maybe that's why it would be so effective. I hope they don't go there, but at some point they really need to stack the deck against Roman's lot and I don't think you achieve that just by Solo recruiting another Longa Tonga, Diddy Tonga or Cranky Tonga. Rollins has been talking publically about the lack of heels on the roster, so I wouldn't be shocked if that was him foreshadowing the return of the heel version of ol' Cackles McGinty. Quote

He does have a match with Phil to build to. Could be him definitely. Should be anyway. Quote

I loved his previous heel run when he was verging on conspiracy tropes and thought they could have pushed it much further. I also think that whilst lost in the shuffle is a bit harsh, his importance as a mega face has certainly been diluted since both Cody and Roman can equally run that role now. He's the buddy. Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. And I think you can largely flip that kind of role if there's some angles to be rinsed out of it. I'll admit - and I even posted to this extent at the time - I never thought his big moment would be anything beyond Grattitude Era. I didn't see them ever actually building the company around him and whilst I understand that's a heartbreaker of an opinion around these parts what we do now know is that they ultimately didn't. The time's come and passed and WWE is solidly in an era where it's less about getting behind an underdog (with - but not always - a hint of "Because the product fucking sucks" to it) and more about the larger than life stars again. Foley had title runs in such conditions but they're unlikely I feel to come out of that pattern any time soon. Turning Sami heel for a year or two now? I'd be all for it. Guy's got loads to complain about, and his heel performances are fantastic. Quote

In Foley fashion is the main way I see it happening for Sami (and how it should, frankly). Triple H has heavily compared him to Foley previously, there's totally similar qualities to their likability when it comes to Attitude Era Foley anyway. As much as we're in an era all of its own now, that era certainly features lots of homage to times of yore. Imagine they recreate the Foley Raw title win with Sami. Big schmoz, everyone getting involved, Usos and Cody helping Sami, before Roman is the deciding factor to seal the deal. Everyone absolutely beaming as Sami celebrates. Imagine if it's Rock he'd dethrone. Put it on the first Raw of the year like Foley's, the Netflix Raw. Another new boom. Double BOOM. ...Then KO murders him just like he did in NXT. Quote
The King of Old School Posted November 13, 2024 Author Posted November 13, 2024 (edited) In an era of two World Champions, there's no reason Sami couldn't have a few months reign at least at some point. Edited November 13, 2024 by The King of Old School Quote

Paid Members Supremo Posted November 16, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 16, 2024 All the money in the world. WWE BAW. However, attempting to watch Paul vs. Tyson live this morning, dodgy graphics look to be the least of their worries for the Netflix launch. Buffering to fuck, completely unwatchable picture quality, I ended up just having to watch a dodgy stream on Twitter. You assume there are some panicked e-mails being sent by WWE this morning. WWE Network has never been perfect, but after watching Netflix screw up this bad, I’m now expecting Royal Rumble 2025 on Netflix to feel like Royal Rumble 2000 on Channel 4. A complete shit show. The King of Old School Posted November 16, 2024 Author Posted November 16, 2024 Let's be honest, a hell of a lot more people would have tuned into last night's fight than will for a random episode of Raw. Sure it'll be fine. Quote
Members SuperBacon Posted November 16, 2024 Members Posted November 16, 2024 Maybe but the NFL will be absolutely shitting it as Netflix have two Christmas Day games which are a huge deal. They'll want to fix this as quickly as possible. Stream chat > ratings chat Quote
DavidB6937 Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Is it the first time they've streamed anything like that or was it just a randomly off night? Quote

SwayWays Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I saw the logo and specifically came on here to see the response. First thing I thought was "Baw..." too. Quote
