Next weeks show has been taped already, so the spoilers are out there to who the 5th man of each team might be, if anybody really wanted to find them! Quote

Paid Members Supremo Posted November 12, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 12, 2024 I hate it. I hate it with all my heart. The one time War Games had a brilliant, organic reason to happen, and they still managed to turn it into the shittest, most contrived rubbish possible. It doesn’t need to be five-on-five. It makes no difference. If anything, four-on-four just means less time for Michael Cole to scream, “THE MATCH HASN'T STARTED! NONE OF THIS MATTERS!” At a push, if it had to be five-on-five, I’d have rather had Cody and Owens involved. Or have The Rock act as a the Belle of the Ball, and you don’t know which side he’s on until he comes out. But Seth? Fucking SETH?! The worst post-nut despair of all time. Quote
d-d-d-dAz Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 (edited) Only way to make it in any way acceptable is if Solo's fifth man is The Rock and - like at Wrestlemania - Seth is written out immediately after trying to attack him. Seriously. What a disaster. This feels like an all time fumble, all because some dweeb thinks having 5 matters. Shite. Edited November 12, 2024 by d-d-d-dAz Quote

So, it's definitely shit and utterly pointless. Completely get that. But in the grand scheme of things, will it actually ruin anything? Will the crowd actually shit all over it because of a fifth man on each side? I haven't read any social media responses because I don't hate myself but even Mania seemed to work and be successful and if they could turn all that around, I'm not sure this is going to have a massive impact on the delivery of the storyline/match. So while some of us don't see this as necessary or whatever else, I think 'all time fumble' is probably a little drastic at this point. Only time will tell. Quote

Why anyone is thinking this match especially needs a 5th man each is beyond me, Quote
Paid Members Arch Stanton Posted November 12, 2024 Paid Members Posted November 12, 2024 I haven't seen Raw yet, so don't know how much has been given away or not, but is it looking like Bronson Reed would likely be the fifth man for Solo's team? Because I don't hate the idea of him being an honorary member of that gang, and the idea of his feud with Seth crossing over into this match would not be the worst thing. I'm looking for positives here, I obviously hate Seth being involved. Quote

I'm looking for positives here, I obviously hate Seth being involved. They’ve not confirmed Seth, and to be honest, I viewed it as that booking trope of trying to find a partner, but having everyone refuse until the real partner shows up. I hadn’t considered Bronson Reed being on the other side, and I see the logic of putting him in a match like that, where he can cause maximum carnage. I suppose the issue is that if Seth were to pin Bronson or vice versa, it doesn’t really resolve or advance anything in the Bloodline feud; which is why I’m still expecting Rock involvement. But we’ll see. And maybe ‘not advancing anything’ is the point, giving them scope to prolong the story and have a match where the losing group is forced to break up or something. Quote
The King of Old School Posted November 12, 2024 Author Posted November 12, 2024 One plus from this episode was Damien Priest, thought he was fantastic in that segment with Gunther. Quote

Before his World title run, I’d never have thought he had it in him to become as good as he has. He really rose to the plate in his role as champion, and simultaneously elevated both the title and his own place on the card. Quote
DavidB6937 Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Yep another fan here of Priest's work this week. I hope he's kept away from JD and Rhea for a while and just let him develop into his own man because he's got the confidence now and I think he can really settle into that role without all the other shenanigans holding him back. Although I doubt that'll happen. Quote
The King of Old School Posted November 12, 2024 Author Posted November 12, 2024 Priest vs Breaker for the IC would be a banger for Mania I feel. Quote

If the rumours are true about Netflix wanting Reigns, Cody and Punk on Raw (…even though across most of the world they also have the rights for Smackdown) I would imagine Priest would be a leading contender to be the face of Smackdown, which may well keep him away from his former stablemates.
