I’d prefer and don’t think they’d be against putting the briefcase on Chelsea Green. They have an out with her character if they want to have a losing cash in without harming someone so they don’t need to go off course with whatever story they are telling come the time. The briefcase gets in the way at times and having someone that can lose their challenge where it would actually only help their character is ideal.

They could do a ton of funny things with Chelsea Green if she won the case. She doesn't need to be a world champion in the slightest but it would all be very entertaining.

The build up was excruciating. Even Sting knew it was coming and fell for it anyway.

It was just a change from it being Luger betraying him.

One underrated aspect of Smackdown for me is how good Corey graves is as the main announcer and how good him and Barrett are together.

...and then there were 3...

Press release confirms he'll be joining a 3-man booth with Graves & Barrett, but interestingly says nothing about which show - given that Joe Tess seems to be continuing to do PBP for college football & boxing as well (he's great at both, IMO) I don't see how he can do Fridays with WWE given the prep needed to do the other stuff on Saturday. Perhaps a signal that Mcafee is indeed all in with WWE and won't re-sign with EPSN for College Gameday which will let him and Cole move to Smackdown?

Guess we'll see - but pretty hopeful about this in general, Joe's a top PBP man & a very different situation the Adnan Virk experiment (which I knew was doomed before it started) as Adnan had always been a studio host (which Joe's done plenty of too).

We've seen them try to bring in "real sports guys" for the credibility boost and it falls apart quick because they don't know what a suplex is and generally don't give a shit.

He is a lifelong fan from the report I read where he talked off attending events since the 80s and has been shown ringside before when they've done the celebs in the crowd bit.

He also presented Wrestlemania editions of Sports center for ESPN or something like that I was reading so seems he is a genuine fan

Eh. Mauro was supposed to know wrestling and he was shit. It’s nice if you know fancy move names but (a) fans who don’t know the names don’t care and (b) those of us who do, will think you’re dogshit when you say them for the wrong moves. Can’t win.

Enthusiasm trumps knowledge most of the time. Be engaging and a good listen without too many repeated sound bytes and he’ll be fine.

I’d not seen any of Jacob Fatu before he joined WWE, but he really grabs your attention any time he’s on screen. I’m seriously impressed by him. He’s the best thing about this new Bloodline group.

I’m definitely intrigued by Cody/Solo at Summerslam, but I just don’t buy Solo as a main eventer. He’s doing well in this story; he really is, but he doesn’t have that ‘star’ quality to him, at least not for me. He peaks at average with all of his best qualities. That said, I imagine this is simply a step towards bringing The Rock back as the true leader of this group (presumably ‘Final Boss’ trumps ‘Tribal Chief’)

Agreed on Solo. There's something a bit New Gen/Ruthless Aggression baddie-of-the-summer about him. A guy Vince would push on a whim to pit the babyface champion against for a few months when there was fuck all else going on. You sense it's all a bit one dimensional and once it's all said and done he'll be back to being multi-man fodder or - in this case - a cog in a much larger faction storyline.

Solo was the natural guy to take over from Roman. But he obviously isn't at the same level as Roman (not that many are) or really any other main eventers so it is a hard sell. I personally don't believe he's a real threat to Cody or that Solo could be champion. He needs a lot more work to get near that level, and you can't help but think Jacob is more capable of it.
