It's from one of those WCW All Nighter events, Bobby, Larry and Tony etc would host a 6 hour show of old Clash matches and do new skits from Tony's house. Quote

davertfnewman Posted April 22, 2025 Posted April 22, 2025 One of the villainous bikers chasing Morten Harket and his girlfriend in the Take On Me video is Dr. Evazan from Star Wars. Quote
davertfnewman Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 Dogtanian and the Muskehounds was originally going to be called Dogtanian and the Musketerriers. Quote

It's a better play on words, but I'm guessing the choice was to have fewer syllables. As a pun-isher, I am affronted. Quote
davertfnewman Posted April 25, 2025 Posted April 25, 2025 My thought was maybe that it makes the heroes sound scarier with a name that sounds like "terrors". Quote

Paid Members seph Posted May 20, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 20, 2025 (edited) Today I learned of the Heidi Game, where the Oakland Raiders staged a last minute comeback against the NY Jets in a game that overran its timeslot so far NBC decided to switch away from the live broadcast in the East Coast to show the film Heidi in its scheduled slot; the film had heavy promotion from the network in the leadup and the decision to switch away was ... somewhat unpopular. Paid Members gmoney Posted May 21, 2025 Paid Members Posted May 21, 2025 Not only did Thin Lizzy not think 'The Boys Are Back In Town' was a likely hit, while it was being written it was at various points called "G.I Joe is Back In Town" and "The Lads are Back In Town." I always enjoy stories about blindingly obvious singles being overlooked by bands. Apparently Phil Oakey of The Human League had to be fought tooth and nail to agree to Don't You Want Me being released as a single, because he didn't think it would sell. Quote

Thin Lizzy also have one of my favourite misheard lyrics in that track to. 'Down at Dino's Bar and Grill' 'Down at Dino's Bar in RHYL' Quote
