Paid Members Lorne Malvo Posted May 25 Paid Members Share Posted May 25 TIL that Zadie Smith, author of White Teeth, is the sister of Ben Bailey Smith off of the telly. Talented family! I don't know if they're related to Clare Short though.

Talented family! I don't know if they're related to Clare Short though. They also have another brother who raps under the name Luc Skyz, who is a decent (if unremarkable) rapper. Luc and Doc (Ben) once gently persuaded me into buying one of Luc's mix CDs outside Deal Real Records by playing me approximately 5 seconds on a discman and convincing me I'd love it. Strong hustle. It was pretty good to be fair. Edited May 25 by SuperBacon
Paid Members Carbomb Posted Friday at 03:23 PM Paid Members Share Posted Friday at 03:23 PM ...that former French First Lady, Carla Bruni, was in Eurotrash. Something something Martin Short, something something Claire Short MP.
Paid Members jazzygeofferz Posted Friday at 05:38 PM Paid Members Share Posted Friday at 05:38 PM Portsmouth is the most densely populates island in the UK, and is our only island city. I'd imagine Clare Short has been there at some point, but I'm not sure whether her cousin Martin would have.
Paid Members Carbomb Posted Friday at 05:43 PM Paid Members Share Posted Friday at 05:43 PM I didn't know Portsmouth was on an island, so I looked at Google Maps. There's a thin creek "separating" it from the mainland. I can accept that definitely makes it an island, but I dunno - feels like cheating a bit. gmoney
As someone who lived there for four years I can say that it definitely feels like an island when you're there.

I had to go to Thorney Island recently. Sounded quite Wicker Man-ish but in all honesty was slightly disappointing.
gmoney
I also used to live very near there for many years as well (Bracklesham Bay - it is a bay). Nearby Selsey used to be an island but got all mushed up into the mainland at some point.
Paid Members Thunderplex Posted 21 minutes ago Paid Members Share Posted 21 minutes ago TIL that Mark Rocco grew up 10 minutes walk away from where I grew up, and his family home was 3 doors down from my best mate. Mind fucking blown!
